ok i am setting gain for a 2ohm load so i would like to get 1500rms so that should be at 54.77

i checked out soundomain and it showed a video of elemental designs showing how to set gains,he said leave speakers connected to have a resistance on the amp, i was always told disconnect the speakers.

so my questions are

1. speakers connected or not connected

2. what test tone? i have heard many people saying to use different test tones

3.is there any certain way or do you just set the freq on the amp by ear around 80hz i hear is about right

4. do you set gains with car on or off

5. How much bass boost should you add if any

by the way this is for 2 12's l7's ported on a zx1500

Thanks

1. connected.....the amp needs the load

2. something that is 0db and in the range of your drivers

3. what freq?

4. car on unless the amp has fully regulated power supply

5. none

the frequency response is what i was talking about 25hz-200hz

also setting the gains with the subs connected wont blow the subs j/w because i heard someone day they will blow with a test tone

also what test tone would be in the range of my drivers

12" l7's

if setting the gains with subs connected would blow your subs, then you would never be able to connect the subs:fyi:.....whomever told you this is a kockmongler

50hz 0db would work

set LPF to 80ish to start and adjust to your liking

This you can do by ear

4. do you set gains with car on or off Set with Car ON

5. How much bass boost should you add if any Shouldnt have to

well for some odd reason i think my amp just blew

had the gains set with a 50 hz tone and then put a cd in and started listening to music all of a sudden the red light for protection came on and the amp will come on and off and i dont understand why

at low volume the amp plays at high volume it cuts on and off and the red light stays on

so what the fukk did i do i am so pizzed now just got this today

is the amp hot?

are you sure it is wired correct(vc's)? check with dmm

grounding is sufficient?

yes checked with a dmm on the vc and its a 4ohms bc i am only running on l7 right now

but the amp is warm and smells odd so idk i am ticked off right now just about to forgt about getting new system and say forget it in all

it was working earlier and then it just went out

idk if the sub blew or what maybe thats why the amp is doing this
