I did my recone with no obstruction of cone movement but there is a rattle within the woffer. it only rattle when in test. I need sugestion . I am considering attempting to try and remove the cone and reinstalling it. I need ideas. pm me or post. thanks:confused:

soundstream t5-12, soldering iron, ca glue from online speaker shop that look acrylic based, fast bond epoxy, razor blade, screw driver.

It came with a clear plastic round shim. I used it to align the woofers. I ran into a problem with the spider assembly. The cone set has dual spider, the one closest to the cone had a plastic ring wirh pre-drilled holes. They did not line up with the basket holes. I tried rotating them but the none of the holes lined up together, so I had to go with the tinsel alignment and the surround alignment and not the spider alignment. I just used the glue alone for those. Now I am sure that is probly the source of the rattle, but when I attempt to recone this again, I am going to just drill additional holes in the spider ring and try to test before completing the assembly. Tell me about the shim please. I am prepared to order a new set or cones just as a backup. so if this is seccessful or a failure I have another set. I have pics of the de-construction only. I will try to get some more and maybe vids of the rattle.

I got two and had then shipped from cali to phx arizona and it was 75total, I think cones are 25. then I bought some good bond goop. 10 bucks, they have dual spiders so i had to do the inner spider and bond it before I could the the outer. and finish it up. sounds like new factory.

I need advice... I did the recone and I hear some scratchy rattle off and on, from the subs when I listen to them move with trunk open. But when I close the trunk and play them like normal I cant hear the noise and I can slam them pretty hard with no problem. Now I dont want to ruin them if there is something wrong so do you think I should try to re-cone them again and hope to solve the problem?
