Problem with voltage

Ok, that's just a clip of how bad my electrical system gets drained (gets worse in some instances) idling. I'm running an mtx 1501d off an optima yellow top, and stock alternator. I don't want my voltage to drop, so what's the cheapest, and best way to go about this. I was going to throw my original battery (pretty decent duralast) in the front and stick the optima in the back. I don't have the money to afford another optima at this moment. I was going to connect posi 2 posi, negi 2 negi and posi 2 amp, negi 2 chassis. Would this kill my alternator even more? A local shop said yes, my friend who ran a zapco 9.0 off 2 redtops (not isolated) and 2 DD 9512s said no. I have about a hundred dollars to spend, so I was just going to get some positive and negative battery terminals and throw that battery in the back. Thanks guys. Ohhh, i also took some pics with my cell phone of my ground to see if I should ground my amp better.

anybody? Anybody here have luck running 2 batteries in parallel and didn't kill their alternator?

Batteries don't create more/better voltage. Use bigger wire to your amp. Relocate your battery to the trunk. Do the big 3. Buy a new alt.

i got the same problem......just last night i'm on the highway and my lights are flickering......dont know what it was but i didnt like it.....so i'm lookin 4 another alt

Get a bigger wire? I dunno if I can find something bigger than 0 gauge, lol. Anyways, I probably should get a new alternator but again I cannot afford it. So putting my other optima yellow top in the back won't help with the dimming and such? ****. I'd love to hear some input.

Would grounding my amp better fix this? Should I attempt grounding my amp to my battery under the hood with 0 awg?

do the big 3 and if that dont fix it then you need a bigger alt. another battery will get oyu by till it gets drained low enough to start dimming the lights and then your alt will work overtime to charge both batts. Not to mention that since your batteries are different the internal resistance will kill them slowly over time. No isolater make sure the batts are the same model/brand.

I told you all the input you need....

You didn't specify wire size. Moving the battery to the rear of the car would only help if you're amps are getting poor voltage.

Save your pennies/lunch money. $300 comes faster than you'd think.

no it accepts any size wire under 1/0 you can get the set screw to grab. I've seen lots with jsut 4ga

Ok, that is understood, but according to MTX 1501ds should really only be ran off 0awg. But yeah, you are correct.
