That sub actually might be too much for me. I'm pretty interested in how it sounds though.get a new SS xxx-15 and call it a day, it will slam on that amount of space, also has probably the best sq youll find in that type of spl 4nch vc category..... but thats just my suggestion..not biased at all *cough* *COUGH*
a btl or DC lvl 5 would be good as well
The NS was one sub I was very interested in, I know Jacob takes a lot of pride in his products.I don't think many high powered subs out there match the Nightshade in SQ. I've heard the Lvl 4, both versions of it, and it sounded *alright* at best. Heard the BL's, not bad either and I can't speak on the SS as I've never heard that one. BTL and LVL 5 would be a joke if your goal is a sub that "sounds great"
For what your looking for I would recommend the NS, especially if your tuned low (which you should be). Lvl XL 4 would be my second choice though, I'm sure in the right box it could sound pretty good
All my experience was with 15's...
PSI custom sub. Fixmyspeaker.com A little worried how expensive that might get but definitely an option.
Never heard a single Treo sub, I'll have to find some reviews on it and see how much they go for.Heard many good things bout a treo SSX
Not really sure a BL could handle the power I'm going to run.I'm just sayin I have a single bl right now 15 And love it and if youronly looking for one you could easliy get one for under 250
I listen to all sorts of music but 75% of the time it's hiphop. I heard an Audioque 10" once and it sounded surprisingly clean actually.what type of music do you mostly listen to?
HDC with alum coils would take that power and they have a rather tight/punchy sound to them which can sound very good on most types of music.
Xcon is another option I was looking at.Level 4 XL or SSA Xcon
Think I saw an 18" Aura neo (TC built) on the forum for 500ish (one on ebay as well for 500). Very very highly regarded SQ sub' date=' doubt it'll take 3KW for long but it should be efficient enough that you won't need that much.[/quote']I was interested in this sub but wasn't sure if it'd be able to get down as low as a ported sub and I was worried about the power handling.
Can't handle the power but read a lot of good reviews on it.Fi Q nukka, they aren't too expensive. They'll run you about $260 - $300 + shipping. Really nice subs.. they're musical and sound great.
Isn't there any 18's out there that would need 4.5c/ft - 5c/ft ported? I might even consider 2 15's that need 2.5c/ft sealed or so. With the cone area I probably wouldn't need the subs to handle the full 3000w.I'd do a 15 in the proper sized enclosure vs cramming an 18 into an undersized box, no matter what sub/brand you end up going with...
You will need to post build log pics of this^Yeah, I think right now it's between the Nightshades and 18" w/ PR's (unsure of brand still).
I was going to say PR as well, but you'd need a PAIR of 18" PRs for a single 18 and that adds a bit of cost. Personally I think if you get a more efficient sub and do 1000-1500W you'd be the same place as a monster power handler and throwing 3K at it.Awww ****it. I went to check on PSI's page on CACO and now I think I want 15's with PR's or single 18 w/ 15" PR's. It would help with my space issues for sure. I had a TC OEM 10" w/ PR back in the day and enjoyed it. Anyone have any thoughts on this type of setup?
