Profiling is straight up bs no matter who it happens to.They've slowly taken our rights away to where ppl have accepted it.Not me,i give em sh1t every time they bother me for walking down the street.Unfortunately you don't need to be the brightest crayon in the box to be a cop. It's sad to look at what the country has come to the last 25 years.Cops should be held PERSONALLY responsible for their actions. They should get doubled penalties for all laws broken. They took an oath and they should gd well uphold it.Even with videotaped proof they get away with murder..smh..I have no clue what happened with the Ferguson shooting but the guy was UNARMED ffs.Charging like a bull with his head down?Absurd...Isn't that what taser's are for?Just open fire on unarmed ppl?Nah..Just bugs me that the National Guardsman have no problem pointing weapons at their own people and by ''people'' i mean Americans.Police state in full effect!People are tired of being pushed around and are starting to push back.
I guess they never told you in school about what the guard did down here under the Kennedy's during the 60's , they didn't have any problem with it then and I am guessing they still don't now

It is sort of ironic that the shoe is on the other foot now though .

Are you telling me, I should be okay with the cops being called on me when I'm at the bus stop 5 days a week from Aug-Dec? I could understand if it happened within the first month, but 4 months in....C'MON. No, I wouldn't call the cops on someone at the bus stop, after all, it is a bus stop.
Has it happened since? Also be aware the police HAVE to come investigate when they are called. Clearly whoever called them didn't know you and realized you stuck out from the crowd so to speak.... or perhaps whoever called the cops doesn't like black folks and was f*cking with you, but who knows? There's also a distinct possibility that the cops just said that someone called to check you out because you looked like you didn't belong there.

I assure you, black folks don't have a monopoly on being mistreated by police though.

In related news, an unarmed white guy was gunned down by police (some rumors are the cop was non-white) in Salt Lake city yesterday.

I wonder if "My People" Eric holder will send the FBI?

True..I said it bugs me that the idiots have 0 issues pointing at their own.Robots 1 and all.

That's for sure. Even Spidermonkey gave up a perfectly good chance to troll, just to make a point. That's something I have never seen before, lol. But I was hoping people would have made more points on things that can change, instead of something you can't change (race). It's just so easy to blame race for inequality since it's the first and most obvious difference people see first.

Getting the cops called on you for being black in a white neighborhood is not a race problem. It's a police problem.

I never understood why the cops should be responding to non life and death calls. Acting "suspiciously" or "stalking" is not an excuse unless a person is on private property.

I had an middle aged white dude on a bicycle in my closed off subdivision at 11:00pm when I pulled in after work. He was riding in the street rather than the sidewalk, which I found unusual. I could have called the cops because he wasn't from this neighborhood and was doing something that people from this neighborhood dont engage in at that time of day. But why? Why put a person in the cross hairs of the police for doing nothing inherently wrong?

I want to know how all of these fine upstanding protesters can stay up until 1-2 in the morning and still make it to their JOBS the next day.
They dont have any jobs cause they whitey's keepin em down

Thatguy in my mind you are one of the main problems with america today.

When I moved from philly to texas 7 years ago I was blown away by the reverse racism I encountered here, I was told by a black guy well i guess you know what it feels like to be a black person now. Are you kidding me I couldnt believe what he had just told me.

When Blacks live the stereotype why should you expect to be treated any less then that. People call it profiling when police stop a suspicious looking car full of hoodlum looking kids in a nice neighborhood at 2am. Well if 50 to 70 percent of the time these people have an illegal weapon, drugs or a outstanding warrant. I call that playing the odds.

You say drug laws are set up to punish blacks, here is an idea dont do fvcking drugs and you wont get in trouble for them, I'm 32 and have never drank or smoked or done a drug in my entire life and guess what im still alive. Im sure you will say its because im white and have had a privileged life, not because i have worked 2 jobs most of life to buy what I want when I want.

If people live the stereotype i will look at you and judge that way, as will most of america

It dont matter if your black, white, hispanic, asian there is 2 sides to every race white and white trash when you live in a crappy trailer park work part time at walmart and smoke meth every night and collect government assistance your a white trash piece of crap and might as well be in ferguson looting with the others.

If you dress a certain way, and speak a certain way, and act like a civilized human being it would be amazing where you can go in life.

Also for the record I work at one of Americas oldest black colleges, I see the good bad and ugly every day You can tell by the sophmore year if these kids are really going to make something of themselves

Black and white people live in a different world wether you want to admit it or not. I see nothing wrong with me acknowledging this and wanting it to change. At this point in my life I know I'm a awesome caring person. All I want is the best for everyone involved. All I want is a fair world. A world were person A recieve same benefits as person B regardless of race, etc. Because that's not how the world is now. 95% of black people you meet will say they have it worse than whites. Yet prlly 95% of whites say they don't have it easier. I will believe what you cannot deny to my eyes. I will believe researchers and college professors. You must hate working at a college. **** near every sociology class now teaches students about inequality. Wether it's racial, ******, based on religion. Alot of the white people on this forum would not want their kids to go to college in a mixed, liberal neighborhood. They might come out wanting equality like I do. Which is apparently a horrible thing

You're so awesome and caring
Compared to how I grew up, where I should be in life, compared to where I am currently. I have no problem bragging saying I've done well so far, but I also know much of this is because of how I was treated. Much of this opinions were based off me being white. In my eyes as a kid it suc*ed seeing da*n near everyone in your neighborhood treated like **** by the police, our community leaders, and the criminal system. All because they were black, dressed "thug" (all the white kids did also). Seeing this as a kid has inspired me to want to help change. That's why in school I go out of my way to take as many classes on sociology as I possible can. Already have eight us less credits because I want to learn. I grew up in a different world, surrounding by different people, who committed different actions than you. Many of you don't understand that poverty makes people do some crazy things. With more black people living in poverty. Odds ar mOre black people will commit crimes to survive. Why not look at the reason why so many black people live in poverty? It's not because there's a gene in black people that makes them work less than a white man. The system is designed this way from conception.

People get treated like **** because they act like shitheads straight up. This my life ***** because the mans keeping me down is tired. Anyone can be a cop?? You're an idiot if you actually think that whoever said it. Obviously you have no idea what psychological testing and back ground checks are done just to get INTO an academy much less get hired by a department. Use a tazer.. lol really after some 300lb guy just laid waste to you two seconds before and tried to take your gun? Yet another moronic statement.

This breaks down into three camps

1. Those who obey the law. We understand stuff happens and with as many cops as there are in this country bad shits gonna happen sometimes it's statistically the way it is. Do what you're told, be polite, accept that the officer has his job and he's going to do what he's going to do. Being aggressive, being abusive, thinking you know more than he does because you watch law & order isn't going to do anything but get you a beatin. For the love of god when you get stopped ..STAY IN YOUR CAR!!! KEEP YOUR HANDS WHERE HE CAN SEE THEM!!! DON"T DIG UNDER THE SEATS!!!, TAKE YOUR SEAT BELT OFF!!!, GET INTO THE GLOVE BOX!!!, ASK HIM WHY HE STOPPED YOU!!! He will explain it to you after he assesses the situation as safe.

2. Those who think every bad thing that happens to him even though he's a drug using lazy *** felon is the "mans" fault

3. Those that hate the government and authority.
