If you had to write a persuasive essay on something that had to do with Ferguson, what would the topic be? The outline is due tomorrow and I figured this was a good place to ask.

Your cut and paste editorials might impress you but apparently they didn't make it to the table at the grand jury hearing. If you want to read that facts that persuaded the grand jury most of that has been published at the link I provided...though it doesn't seem you're interested in any facts getting in the way of you personally feeling like an entitled victim.

I decided to do the essay on minimum wage. I just finished the outline :/

I would have liked to do the report on Ferguson though. The looting and vandalism is wrong. Not much is being done about it. Protests are turning violent.

It made me kinda angry. The "don't shoot" thing is dumb. He robbed a store and assaulted a police officer. Most people are just mad about the shooting because he was black. The guy at the gas station in the video was right. Defacing the property of others is not the right thing to do. I'm not against the peaceful protests.

The last guy in the video tried to justify the looting..

I don't know what kind of "school" this is for, but generally it's a bad idea to deal with such a political hot potato..... though you could do a little digging into the history of "block busting".... at some point if you can buy up property for pennies on the dollar and turn it into section 8 housing you can get your money back and then some before the low lifes destroy your property.

Bear in mind most of academia is dominated by rabid Marxists, so if you can stand up and give the "right" argument with a straight face it's probably good for about 10% on your grade or better.

Michael brown was raised by his grandma because his mother was a selfish ***** who couldnt be burdened by raising her own child. Media silent. Michael browns gramma was assaulted and robbed by friends of the mother and boy friend because she sold shirts memorializing her grandson. They wanted that money. Media silent. These people are the ones who receive our sympathy? Does anyone even know the grammas name? She raised the boy. She must not be anti-police enough to garner support from liberal race baiters.

I'd suggest it's more probable that he was out of control and that's why mom shipped him out. I'd really like to see his juvenile record released. The greatest irony of the situation is that I'd wager 99 out off 100 of the looters would have killed him themselves over a dice game, 20$ drug debt, pair of sneakers, PS4, or simply having the wrong color rag hanging out of his back pocket and not lose a wink of sleep AND were that situation to occur there would be narry a witness to be found.

Not worth making waves there IMO. You could turn minimum wage interesting by examining how raising minimum wage beyond the value of the minimum wage employee's work can lead to great advances in mechanization and automation.

I'm probably not the best guy to go preaching though. When I was in high school we had some bullshit anti-war rally we were all forced to attend one day (Gulf war 1 era)... me and a couple friends printed out a thousand "legalize it" pamphlets and handed them out at the door to the hippie rally. We passed out well over half before they were confiscated and of course got to miss out on a little bit of anti-American indoctrination.

I truly pity anyone in a public school today. God help you.
