Prv speakers, opinions anyone??

Pro audio mid range speakers can be made to sound decent, if you keep them in their frequency range. With a 6.5 inch speaker, that’s like 200hz to 5khz. Which means you need a subwoofer, a mid bass, the pro mid and then a tweeter.

Build quality, I would say PRV is not as good. Sound quality wise, that is a personal preference. I have literally had witnessed customers claim $100 Pioneers sounded better than a $1000 set up Diamon Audio speakers. Everyone's hearing is different. However, as everyone has mentioned, PRV is more about pro audio. They just slapped "car audio" on their club and studio equipment.

You can't put any power to a pro audio driver and actually play into it the midbass range, so you end up with a "hole" in your stereo you'd have to fix with yet another driver

Yep. The pro audio mids are meant to match with a pro audio woofer, which plays much higher than a sub. You'll have a gap from 120-200 hz probably. They're super efficient but only within the range they're meant to play in.

Brazilian mids have about as much place in your doors as a stunt wall imho. If you're looking for 200-6000hz Prv is your solution. I'd opt for something a bit more useable myself. Peerless or Dayton among others may let you drop your crossover up front enough to stage those strong hi's and blend with your substage. Knowing which to buy is entirely dependent on your understanding of crossovers/slopes and staging.
Excuse me but I've failed to hear PRV in any install that wasn't trying for volume at the expense of accuracy and be damned the poor passers by that had to endure a stunt wall or open doors in a typical PRV mid install. Brazilian style audio always shows up at comps but the constant grating of the "music" turns off any attendee.
