Opinions and stuff.. Thanks :)

Being the only guy in town shouldn't mean you can trash talk a customer's equipment. It's unprofessional and I never do that, and I'm the only place in town.
I've done one Jeep Wrangler with the sound bar overhead and it's a strange setup for speakers. Unfortunately, if your 3.5s are mounted like I'm imagining, it's the laziest way the manufacturer could have done it. Custom enclosures would definitely improve their sound, but anyone who knows how to do that right is going to charge much more than a set of speakers will cost.
They use to be like 4x6 in dash but those don't really exist anymore so I replaced with 3.5. Involved removing front roll cage folding down windshield and removing dash.. Big job I know... Should I say nvm the dash speakers and get some enclosures made to fit somewhere? Once again 95 yj I someone tells me how to post pics I will

I'd trust them to set the gains sure why not. I phoned originally and said I've installed my stereo an would like it tuned. He said most people can't even tell the difference and it would take a few hrs so not worth my time.. So I replied with. Then how do I not blow my sub.. Which he responded setting the gains on the amp.. Then I went down there and he basically said he didn't like what he see's... Shot me ideas.. Them we made an appt for this week I'm goin to go in an show him everything I have and he said they will figure out an enclosure that will bolt right in and a extra battery will hide inside it and my 12w7 and two 8w3v3 will be in it and yea.... So here I am asking questions..

3.5s and 4x6s are still around, just as small of a selection as ever but they're still both in production. The nicest 4x6 setup I know of is the Infinity 4" plate components. Kappa 462.9cfp. If you could seal up the area around these so the sound isn't going around the front side of the speaker directly that will improve the fullness of the bass. I can't find any pictures of the front speakers in your vehicle and searching Jeep forums is an exercise in frustration.

I use Photobucket.com to host photos for sharing on forums. It's not the easiest user interface but they give you the code to copy and paste into the forum.

Ok so since I have nothing but time and already have a photobucket lol.. Here we go... An before I get any wtf you got it all jammed in there it's because I was taking it there to show the guy what I have remember.... The only thin hooked up is that 12w7 to the hd1200

Hope those pics help... My main question is, is the custom enclosure from them going to make that much of difference? He says huuuuge difference

I don't know about that. People tend to talk up their own skills to make a sale like that. Have you seen any of the boxes he's built?

Trumpet if it was your jeep.. Going off what I have. What would you do/add to finish it off... The reason I got ye 12w7 in the h.o. Box is because of how well it fit between the wheel wells.. Deck/ speakers?

I don't know, man, a Jeep is so far from the kind of vehicle I would buy. It would have to be strictly "just for fun", so the idea of carrying groceries in it wouldn't even matter. I'd probably try to optimize the sound bar and put better speakers in there, and do sound deadening to make sure it doesn't rattle. I probably would not fuss too much trying to get the speakers sounding great because of the nature of that vehicle, as it's very noisy and open. I'd probably use those Infinity 4" plate speakers and try to seal off the rear of the speaker from the front, possibly using a heavy sound damping product. That would have to be figured out as I had the dash apart. I'm not sure if I would use the center console speaker pods.

I'd use a head unit without a CD player and use Bluetooth to stream music from my phone. It appears to be discontinued, but the Clarion FZ502 would be on my list.

The 12W7HO box could probably get bolted to the floor. It does look like it fits well. I wouldn't add the 8s. The only reason I'd consider changing to a sealed box is if that HO box doesn't play high enough to mate with the speakers. Midbass is going to be a big problem.

The 12W7HO on my old jl amp got loud enough to make my nose tickle and my hair stand up on my neck.. I've yet to hear it on the hd1200 since purchase.. So yea.. I've rhino lined my floor painted it and clearcoat..It seems to keep sound fairly well.. The only things that rattle is my door handles because they are a little loose from the style they are and being old.. It is for fun use only for the most part how would I bolt that beast down without damaging the sub box?? Sorry if I'm annoying my appointment with sight and sound is tomorrow.. And I don't want to lead them on thinking they are gonna build me a big box if it's not going to make the difference they say it will..

Have you used the 12W7HO in the Jeep or was this a different vehicle? I think some heavy duty stainless steel brackets could be built to hug the box, then you could bolt those to the vehicle. It's probably going to wear into the carpet. Another option is drilling holes into the floor of the box and then bolting that to the floor of the vehicle. Either way some damage will be done to the box. If damaging the box is a big concern then maybe you should have them build a box that could be fastened to the vehicle. I'm just not convinced they will make it perform better than the HO box.

I used it in jeep on other amp.. I have no carpet, it is as the picture shows:) rhinoed blue an clear coated... Should I dynamat the whole inside of my jeep? And for my gain settIng am I understanding right 12w7 1000w at 3 ohm so target voltage is 54.7.. That with the gain/input sensitivity ??? What is the filter freq. (hz) knob and how do I know what it's supposed to be at?? And what setting do I set my dmm on? I feel like a child

His pitch was... My custom enclosure will sound waaaay better than any mass produced enclosure anyday...

My rebuttle is.. Yes but jl specifically manufactured the spec ported box for that sub...

And yes no carpet this is why I'm trying to figure it out because as I don't min a couple holes.. I don't want to be drilling holes everywhere in my truck

He says that's just what jl will tell me and that box isn't tuned to that sub
