Noob questions - installing sub into box

OK so I have my stealth box and my 10" speaker. But I'm at a loss of what I should do now. I have 8 1 1/4" drywall screws and I was told to pre-drill the holes first.

1. Does that mean I use a drill and drill the holes and then hand screw the screws in? What size bit should I be using to drill the holes?

2. How do I connect the speaker to the speaker wire? I've never seen a connection like the one it has. It's something I sort of unscrew and then there is a hole in the middle of the bolt that is exposed. Do I just wraps the wire around it and screw it back up?

3. Is it OK if the fil that is in the box touches the speaker? If not I'll have to take a lot out and it won't meet the requirements I've read about.

Take a pencil or whatever and make a little dot through the speaker holes to mark where you will drill then remove the sepaker. If you are gentle you can drill with the speaker still there but it is more risky.

Use a drill bit that is about half the diameter of the screw

Then yes, use a hand held screwdriver to tighten them down

Wires.....just strip you wires and stick them thru the middle of this bolt and then screw the thing back down or up whichever.

Take some fill out so the speaker has a little nest....it will not make a big difference.

imo it gives a better seal to not predrill the holes for the subwoofer. when you are costructing your box you predrill because you are goin into the mdf sideways, so you predrill to keep it from splitting. but for the sub you go straight into the wood from the front. so far every box ive built without predrillin for the subwoofer holes, held the sub more securly (imo) and there was no splitting whatsoever. i examined this after removing the sub and everytime it was all good. just my opinon, take it for what its worth

thanks for the advice. Looking at it by just dropping the speaker in it's already a very tight fit, which is good. The eclipse speaker also came with some thin foam insulation that should make sure it seals completely.

I'll just try predrilling it and see how that works.
