Newbie with questions

I'm new to this forum and have some questions on a system for a boat.

System:

Sony HU

PPI pcx 480 going to 8 mb quart's- 2 pair of components & 2 pair of coaxials

PPI pcx 1250 going to 2 jl 10w3v2- 2ohm

My questions are:

what size speaker wire for the MB's, length of wires will be 6' to 20' from amp?

When running the MB's parallel do all wires have to go to the amp or just from one

speaker to the other?

last question is sealed or ported box for the subs?

12-14 gauge should be fine for the subs, sealed box for more sq, ported for more spl, i'd probably say go sealed, but that's my oppinion, and when running parallel, they all come from the amp, not from one speaker to another.

to help with the ? on ported or sealed i have about 2 ft^3 to use. I'm guessing if i went ported i would have to share a chamber. I'm not sure about SQ or SPL because it is an open air application(boat) would you hear or feal the difference?

If you have a max of 2cuft to work with, stay with a sealed box. JL recommends 1-1.5 cuft per sub for a ported chamber......and when you account displacement into the matter, youd be a little below the recomended volume.....if you can go up to 3cuft, then go ported.
