new sub came today

I have a friend who has the old dcx version of that sub, very loud and nice sounding, but lacks on the lower end.
That may be a function of the enclosure, not necessarily the sub. Not knowing the specifics I cant say for sure, just mentioning its a big possibility.

I would agree that it was the enclosure. The one I played with had no problem playing planet krypton from the iasca disc. The sob was just to **** deep for a spare tire well enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well the subs specs recommend the sub be tuned to 40hz, but i helped my friend build 2 enclosures for these subs. The first enclosure was around 4.2 cubes tuned to like 31 hz, we both loved the response from this box but decided to go a little bit bigger and higher with the tuning. The second box was around 4.5 cubes tuned @ 35 hz defently louder but also slight peeky..The low end IMO just could of been better, but overall we liked the subs, the pair of 12's were getting around 1200 watts rms a piece becasue we had 2 1200d's strapped to them and they sounded great

will i droppied it in a 1.5 cub tunied to 34 and it sounds alsome its in the break in time so i am only giving it half power on my JBL 1201 next week ill turn it up

its crying for more power so 1200 rms sould make her happy
