New guy with a new build

Hi guys. My name is Josh. I joined this forum to get some opinions on what I am wanting to do. This is not my first system nor my first decent setup. But.... I have a 2007 silverado crew cab and I am wanting to get a little system but use the factory radio... I want something that will be extremely loud but still be sql... I had a 13w7 in a slot ported box with a kicker zx1000 amp a few years ago in a blazer and it was extremely loud... I LOVED that system and I was a fool for selling it. My main questions... Someone told me that jl now makes a box that will fit 4 12's behind my back seat. I am wondering if anyone knows about this box and knows the potentials of it. Its just that I have never heard an extremely loud space saver box. What I would really love to do is build a slot ported box for 1 or 2 13w7's and a jl 1000/1 amp... But, if I can get a space saver system and still be able to use my full back seat and it be very loud I might go that route... I also want some kind of level control knob on the amp seeing as how I wont have any sub level control on the factory radio. All help is appreciated...

I had planned on trying to buy it used. Looking to spend no more than $1500. My last 13w7 was bought new so I understand how expensive they are. I have just been hooked on jl stuff ever since then is why i kinda wanted to go back to them. what other stuff out there is more efficient and louder? I doubt i build a box for 4 w7s to sit in my back seat. It would take up my whole back seat and i dont want to do that.

There is simply not enough room behind your back seat to properly enclose four 12's. Not enough volume, and probably not enough depth to accommodate them (unless you use slimline subs). And Im talking about a sealed box, let alone ported.

Getting a loud system, while retaining the whole back seat, and no blow through, is not a very realistic goal. And you are comparing to your old system which was in a blazer, so you have an up hill climb to begin with.

no, i dont have the fold up seats... i guess im just going to build a box to just sit in the back seat. no... what are your opinions on subs seeing as how some of you think that the 13w7 is not the best choice for the price

I did a four 12" box for my buddies extended cab Silverado (current body style, not sure what year). I removed the back seats and had to build a wall for proper airspace. Four 8" would have more cone area then the 13w7 did, so with identical power, you should get comparable output. You can do four Sundown SA-8's ported under the back seats with raising the rear seat a minimal amount. I have heard this set up in the same truck you have and was extremely impressed.
