New Guy looking to upgrade from BONE STOCK

Welcome to the world or car audio. It's nice to see that you are local.

Rears are optional.

Don't forget to factor in Wiring and hardware as part of your budget.

I might be able to help you install if time allows. Good luck

Sorry, I do not know of any shop to recommend you. I'm used to doing all my audio work myself.

I'd personally recommend against a Type R for what you are trying to attain.

6.5 Phoenix Gold RSDs (Ebay) seem like a good component option. Then maybe a Cadence TXA 3004 (http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=383) for a decent budget 4 channel amplifier. Use 2 channels to power the front RSDs and then bridge the remaining channels for 300 watts and use a nice, efficient 12 at 4 ohms (JL w0v2, Alpine Type E, TMA 12, etc.)

I don't think a Type R is what you are looking for. The Type R is great for getting loud, but you said that you aren't looking for loud necessarily. A JL w0 will give a nice complimentary boom. Like the others have stated, rear speakers are overrated. Just properly sound deaden your front doors and you will have a very nice system IMO. Just my 2 cents. This setup should leave plenty of $ for wiring, hardware, installation.

you'll need a harness for your HU, which is usually around $15-20. You'll need a mounting kit for your HU, which are also around $15-20.

amps hook-up kits are around ~$60 for 4awg kits. I recommend the Kicker kits because I prefer their inline fuse holder and distribution block over others.

You can get the harness and mounting kit at your local stereo shop or best buy if you dont' want to wait for shipping.

cdt comps up front a sax125.2 to push them then maybe a good used mono amp for the arrrrrrrrrrrrr and the deck of your choice plus misc. wires and stuff should be plenty

haha people hate on the arrrrrrrrrrrr lol

oh well, in my budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

plus this is gonna be my first system so i think ill be surprised how much better it is than the 15 watt stock bullsht

I know you have your heart set on these big name brands. So you can impress your friends but don't be a duplicator be an originator. Make people copy you it's much cooler.

Don't get the Alpine Type R get this instead:

http://www.woofersetc.com/p4905/RE12--RE-Audio-12"-250-Watt-Dual-4-Ohm-RE-Series-Subwoofer.htm

You CAN NOT run component speakers off a head unit. That would be like buying a Mustang and putting the motor of a Smart4Two in it to go fast. You will need 2 amps OR you can buy a 4-channel amp and use the front two channels for the components and the rear two channels bridged for the sub-woofer. It'll be better for you budget to go with a good 4-channel amp than buy two cheap amps. Surf the forum's for a good used 4-channel amp.

For a front set of components look into as many brands as you can locally then buy the ones you want online.

http://www.woofersetc.com/p5883/6020CS--Infinity-65"-Component-Speaker-System.htm

You'll probably spend $100 on wiring and supplies. The box even if you build it will probably be around around $50.

So right now with the set-up I've given you here's your budget break down:

Wiring & Box : $150

Components: $150

Sub-woofer: $80

Amp(s): ~$300

Head Unit: ~$200

Total: ~$880

So if you plan on doing the install yourself and getting someone to help you. Then, you'll make your budget. So don't get caught up on a Alpine Type-R that's an extra $50 more just because it's more mainstream. I'm fairly certain that RE Sub will push just what you're looking for will be easier to power and be just as clear and loud.

hey thanks for suggestion, yeah im getting 2 amps for sure.

here's the order im doing things

installing HU sometime next week.

then after HU im gonna get a single 12" sub powered by an amp.

and so all that leaves me with is components and an amp for that..so therefore i have yet to decide on a good amp for components
