Need Watts explained alittle

Hey all!! Pretty much a newbie quest...

With a mono amp rated at 1600 watts @ 1ohm, and connecting 2 subs 4 ohm DVC using the wiring guide from here, exactly how do the watts get dispursed? Are the subs getting the full 1600, or are they getting 800 /sub? Was never sure how the monos worked?

Thanks much man! So I got 2 10"type r's, and im thinking of getting a hifonics mono 1600. So will the type r's be ok with 800 watts per? Is it sufficient, or over kill?

You'll be just fine with that amount of power to each sub.

running a parallel series, wouldnt he be getting a 2ohm impedence. 400 to each sub?

if they were single 4ohm coils ya

but there dual voice coil 4 ohm

If they were dual 2ohm, then yes. He is running dual 4 ohm, so running all in parallel for 1 ohm.
