Not sure if this is totally correct. the original plan was to just do testing with this amp, but i think im gonna leave it in til the real amp gets here...

anyways, i got a kenwood 729S 2 channel amp. I dont have any manuals or anything for it, but i got subs wired at 1 ohm into it in bridged mode (300x1). It gets a lil toasty if i crank the volume, so i turned down the gain to half and plan to listen at just moderate volume. What you guys think? a few days til it fries or it gonna be okay?

if u bridge into 4 ohms u still get 300 watts. Why not just do that and have it last till ur amp gets back?

subs are wired at 1 ohm already and it was a pain in the *** wiring it, two 8 guage wires crammed into terminals designed for 1 8 guage wire.

Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't toasted yet. Bridged @ 1 ohm is ridiculous. Thats like running 2 x 0.5ohm.

i mean, it played fine at full volume the way it was wired, and i played it for a good 15 minutes straight. When i turned my car off, the amp was warm to touch, but nothing too seroius.

the amp is beaten to crap anyways, it was my sisters boyfriends. RCA jacks are superglued on, all dented up and whatnot hehe.

for whta this amps worth/that i dont use this amp/how much ill push it, im not too worried aobut the amp, although i am concerned about my subs.

all in all, its not worth the rewiring to get this amp wired at 4 ohms.

If this amp goes, will it effect my subs in any way?

it's quite possible you could hose your subs
