Need somethin better than the W7

W7...excellent woofer, but it can be "beat."
I resently dropped off one of my Magnum at a local JL dealer to let them play with it, they love the Mag. They did a drop in...W7 v. Magnum and played with them both for a long time. I believe that they were impressed and will no longer be saying that the W7 is the "best" woofer.

Did you even read what he wrote??? He dropped his mag off at a JL DEALER. Whether it's true or not that they think the mag is better than the w7 can't be said, as it's an opion. But I'm sure the JL dealer was VERY impressed with the D2.

Why don't you save your money and buy yourself a nice EQ.

Yeah, you know when its down to a W7 or a D2....I think I'd just stick with what you ahve and save yourself the trouble, it really wont be worth ti when all is said and done. What you could do is just slap that W7 in a ported box tuned to 30 HZ, about 2.75 cubes, it should still sound great and get the extra SPL boost your looking for.

In terms of linear output capability, not one of the woofers mentioned is going to beat the W7.

The H2, Brahma, and XXX are the only ones that really match it for absolute accuracy as well.

The CSX is a joke compared to any of those woofers for daily purposes, as it is by far the least ideal for musical purposes, and the most overpriced of the bunch as well. Don't bother with Treo at all for musical purposes, their woofers are nothing special for that purpose.

Honestly, why not just get a bigger amplifier and use a bigger box? Honestly, you're nowhere near the full capabilities of the subwoofer with that amp.

did you mean "D2" instead of "H2"? never heard of the H2 except for a car.
