Need somethin better than the W7

Hey all, I have a zapco 750 ran bridged to a JL Audio 12W7 in a custom box in my mustang, but im getting rid of everything and I want to start fresh this summer. I was wondering if there is anything out there better than a 12w7 in terms of SQ and SPL (SQL if you will,) althougth I have read the fourms and dont think so. If there is nothing better, how about something compairable? I want something with just as good SQ, and maybe alittle more SPL if possible, i like the deep lows. Thanks again in advance for your help guys. Oh yeah ill prolly be runnin another zapco 750 with the symblink or the zapco 1000. Thanks!

Orion H2, Re XXX, Eclipse Titainium, etc will all give you more spl and better lows than the w7, if put in the correct box

Really? What is this based on? Have you heard and compared all these in similar installs? Proably not. All the drivers mentioned above are top quality. But that claim is dumbfounded and without merrit. The W7 is an amazing woofer. It will be very hard to top in terms of what you are looking for. If your just looking for a change then any of these will provide you with that. But if you are looking for something that will out perform your W7 in terms of SQL then you will be hard pressed to find any driver to do that.

The closest out of the above mentioned is the Elicpse Titanium...and I'd go with the pro series on that. It can easily get louder and is just at par with the w7 on SQ.

havoc...what size jugs and how much do you want...I think I've asked before.

I haven't heard a lot of woofers, but the W7 is regarded as about the best out there. If you find a better one, you let me know.

SQ on the W7 will be hard to beat. but not SPL. you should try a stereo integrity magnum D2. you can find them at stereointegrity.com. it will be a little wait for magnums but you can get on a pre-order list i believe. by the way, the magnums have very good SQ as well. just ask around or do a search.

you might want to consider something other than what the others say like xxx or brahma... not saying that there is anything wrong with them, but check out

the phoenix gold elite / diamond audio tdx/ id max...

you said you want comparable sq and those subs probably have it, however i want to talk to you in live chat to get a more understanding of why you would want to change up your setup.

I would go with a XXX. It's louder than a W7, and yet still has good SQ. It's probably a step behind the W7 in SQ, but it makes up for it in how loud it gets. And yes I have compared the two subs on more than one occasion.

The Eclipse Titanium is also very nice, comparable in both SQ and SPL. I always thought the Titanium Pro was purely a competition sub???

that sounds like your best option and seeing as you already have one and a zapco to power it highly doubt money is a problem.

Just add another W7 in there. The W7 is pretty much the top dog of subwoofers. It will be very hard to beat... I don't think any other subs will match it's SQ. So if you want it louder just get another W7, you already got the amp for it.

I resently dropped off one of my Magnum at a local JL dealer to let them play with it, they love the Mag. They did a drop in...W7 v. Magnum and played with them both for a long time. I believe that they were impressed and will no longer be saying that the W7 is the "best" woofer.

not really. The Ti Pro only comes in 15 and 18. It can definately be used for competition, but they sound really good too. We have one going into a 2000 Dodge viperGTS. As far as the sq goes, a tdx or a titanium sound better IMO, and xxx and h2s crush the w7 in spl.
