Need somethin better than the W7

Sorry, but I don't spout off about products I haven't used. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I only recommend those that I have used and have had a good experience with, I'm sorry if you feel otherwise... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Hey all, I have a zapco 750 ran bridged to a JL Audio 12W7 in a custom box in my mustang, but im getting rid of everything and I want to start fresh this summer. I was wondering if there is anything out there better than a 12w7 in terms of SQ and SPL (SQL if you will,) althougth I have read the fourms and dont think so. If there is nothing better, how about something compairable? I want something with just as good SQ, and maybe alittle more SPL if possible, i like the deep lows. Thanks again in advance for your help guys. Oh yeah ill prolly be runnin another zapco 750 with the symblink or the zapco 1000. Thanks!
I was in kind of the same boat as you w/not enough power for the sub. They are rated @ 750rms but even w/JL specs (box) its still underrated. I had gotten the hifonics bx1500d hoping that @ the 3ohm rating that it would be enough power. Well it did sound good, but With a sub like that - You'd want it to sound like it is a w7 and not a 2 alpine type r's (Yea i said it, lol (starting stuff)..Now that I ordered this tantrum, i'll have more power for the sub. As soon as i get it - I'll write a extended review in the section, just as soon as steve write's his on the mtx9512 & tdx //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah, but Kurt...when was the last time you took a W7, and another sub mentioned, and tested them IN CAR, where it really matters? No T/S paramater takes in car response into account.

I think you missed my point. I just got done saying you won't find everything on a T/S sheet, and then you respond by saying that no T/S parameters takes in car response into account.

This doesn't cause any problems for what I said. Transfer function is still a fixed thing in any given vehicle, so it can be measured...

It also doesn't change the results of differences in BL, Cms, or Le related distortion. Given that it isn't debatable that these things don't change, it makes no sense to claim that the environment would change them, and as such, you can't really use that example to counteract my point.

Still, I agree that T/S sheet does not equal all objective data...
