need help on subs

ok im getting another sytem right now i have 3 audiobahnd 1200x subs they are loud but not loud enough. i want real real loud. i want those jl 12w7's but i heard they are not as loud as those kicker L7's or anything my price range is about 750 a sub or about 1500 i just want a real loud system. and i was looking at more audiobahns and it says the db efficiency is like 98.6 db i want about 150 -160 does that 98.6 have anything to do with it?? or is that a whole different topic? thanks vince

That's a whole different deal. It coincides with, but doesn't dictate SPL. Audiobahn subs are typically pretty loud. Before purchasing new subs you might want to reevaluate your install and the size of your amp.

If you did change subs I would recommend the Adire Audio Brahma. But since your purely into SPL, try posting something specifically to RANGERMAN. He's an SPL freak like yourself.

efficiency is how the subs are tested for...well efficiency. They test them by putting 1 watt into the speaker at 1 meter away. Higher efficiency better, but you will be lucky to find higher than 100, if that, maybe 95... but like stated above doesn't mean you will be louder if it has higher sensitivity...install, brotha, install....

That 98.6 that you have is the highest I've seen.

dont just look at subs when trying to get more spl

if your amp cant keep up with your subs then whats the point

You are an SPL freak??? Yeah me too. I would highly recomend a MMATS Juggernaut, a Kove Armagedon, or a digital Designs 9515. Also look into the L7s as you stated before. NOT the W7...there are a lot of better subs out there than the W7...
