My install's coming along nicely

So you really think you can do all that ? Not write about it but do it ? You couldn't even get it turned on ??? Good luck, maybe you should take it back to Tim and have him do the technical stuff.
Tim got my current mal-engineered system working decently. Now I should be able to USB into the DSP with my laptop, save this existing config to a file (first thing I'm gonna do in Sould Manager) and see how Tim has my DSP set up currently. This combined with the Alpine doc should give me some good information. I just wanted my system to WORK! Driving around in silence after installing all this audio gear was unbearable! And as I said when Tim got my DSP configured to work, the "on with HU" seems to be an undocumented feature!

Let me know how that works out for ya !

I've got everything hardware installed so to go full active is relatively simple. I can do this. Speaker wires are already run up front for full active, 4 amps outputs wires, only two pairs being used now to the PHD crossovers which of course I would remove and wire all 4 drivers on separate V75 amp channels speaker wires. Then figure out if the sub output RCAs from the HU can reach the sub inputs of the V9 directly, around the DSP. I just need four new purple RCAs from the DSP to four input channels of the V75 to power the PHD mid bass drivers and their tweeters separately up front.
Then juggle around the outputs of the DSP in Sound Manager and make all my drivers work together in their various frequency ranges as suggested by ilikeradios and NSTALN. But that's in my future! Right now I'm gonna continue to enjoy a sub-optimized car audio system that sounds pretty kickin'!!

Wow that's a lot. You can't handle it. Hell you can't even cook for yourself. I bet you have your own chef.

You guys are absolute fools. John Kuthe, or whatever his real name is, is trolling the fuck out of this entire forum. I love it.

So John, when you can't figure out how to plug in a USB cable, we'll be here to explain it to you. You could even start a new topic and we could see how many thousands of pages it takes to get through to you.

Yeah last week he's a camping expert. This week he's a technical writer.
This guy has something new every week. Jack(***) of all trades. Literally.
No, "Technical Writing" was a 3 credit hour college class I had as part of my Computer Engineering degrees program at Washington university in St Louis. And I got a grade of A+ in it!! And in the class we were exposed to some particularly bad examples of technical writing and I think this Alpine doc could quality for that! We did have one example (very BAD) from Fujitsu!

Only two ways to plug in a USB cable. Upside down or correct. DUH!

And the "thousands of pages" here are due to all the worthless P RICK posts plus ALL the overhead noise on these webpages of Caraudio.com! Graphics C RAP, etc.

I'm using the valuable information from ilikeradios and NSTALN to set me up a three way active system up front (PHD drivers, tweeters and 2 door 6x9s) and the rear 6x9 for fill and the sub wired directly to the HU bypassing the DSP, leaving me eight output channels to configure how I want unless Alpine ***** about needing a sub!

And I certainly DO know about basic parametric EQ and varying the center frequency and roll offs, although 24dB rolloff NSTALN suggests seems awfully steep! I'll try it at first, then play with widening it! LP, HP and BP, but what is the the remote for the sub? You mean the control knob? It's designed for the V9 and I'm keeping it. Works well!

John Kuthe...
Yes...I am referring to the control knob for the sub channel of the PDX-V9. Your HU subwoofer RCA output is controlled through the HU...making the knob completely redundant. I am aware it is made for the amp...but it is made that way for people who DO NOT HAVE the option to control it from the HU. The reason I suggest NOT to use it is because adding anything to the signal chain will affect the signal...the idea is to affect the signal (music) as little as possible, to keep the response as 'linear' as possible. Where you already have the functionality you desire built right into the HU, you gain nothing by adding the control knob...expect an additional device for the signal to pass through. Plus you'll have to install the knob and run the extra wire...literally for nothing gained over what you already have.

It's solid advice...take it or leave it.

I understand and agree with what you are saying. The problem with my Alpine CDE-153BT is with the most basic bass control it has it only allows adjustments UP, not down!! Unless I get into it's parametric equalization which I'd prefer to stay out of and let the DSP do all the EQ stuff.

I'm pretty sure the only electrical component in the Alpine RUX-KNOB bass control knob is a rheostat of some type, variable resistor. And that pretty much only affects signal amplitude, not much else. If/when it's working correctly.

But thanks again for your very valuable concerns! :)

And I JUST Western Unioned Alexander for a pair of custom 6" Russian made speaker rings like this:

Alexander said $99 and I said how about an even $100 so I Western Unioned him $100!

Can't wait to get my speaker grills and get them installed over those PHD 5.25" drivers, mounted on the plastic dash cover after cutting 5.25" holes in the cover directly above the PHD drivers! Give them enough room to excurse!

No need to exp[lain it to me....because I'm def not in your situation and 2, dgaf.
