Since everyone seems busy I’ll try to help:

It sounds like you're having some trouble with your remote wire connection, and I’m here to help you sort it out.

When connecting the remote wire from your amplifier to the fuse box, it's crucial to choose a fuse that is designed for low-current accessories. The USB fuse you mentioned likely couldn't handle the load from the amp's remote turn-on wire, which is why it burned out.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to properly connect the remote wire:

  1. Identify the Right Fuse: Look for a fuse that powers an accessory that only activates when the ignition is on, such as the radio or another low-power accessory. A common choice is the radio fuse itself, as it is designed to handle the current draw from audio equipment.
  2. Access the Fuse Box: Remove the cover of the fuse box behind the dash to access the fuses. Make sure your vehicle is off before you start working to avoid any electrical shorts.
  3. Use a Fuse Tap: To avoid cutting any wires, consider using a fuse tap (also known as a fuse holder or add-a-circuit). This device allows you to connect your remote wire without directly splicing into the existing wiring. Simply remove the chosen fuse, insert it into the fuse tap, and then insert the fuse tap into the slot.
  4. Connect the Remote Wire: Connect the remote wire from your amplifier to the designated terminal on the fuse tap. Ensure that the connection is secure and insulated to prevent any shorts.
  5. Test the Connection: Once everything is connected, turn on your vehicle and check if the amplifier powers on when you start the car or turn on the radio. If it does, you’ve successfully made the connection!
  6. Secure Everything: After testing, make sure all wires are neatly secured and that the fuse box cover is replaced properly.

To add to the above, make sure you tap the non-powered sdie of the fuse, so that the fuse continues to do its job if there is a problem. It's a 50/50 chance, but I've seen plenty of taps that were put on the powered side. No good.

Find the radio fuse in the panel or another (10a) ignition fuse. Ignition fuse meaning it has 12v+ power when the "key" is on.

May I ask why you are hooking up the amps remote wire to the fuse box? GM's don't have a radio switched power source for on their SUV's. What amp are you hooking up? Check your power point/cigarette lighter ports. Most of the GM SUV's have those hooked up to a switched power source.

Also, there are a lot of LOC (line output converters) that have a remote output wire that powers up when it senses music playing.
