most over-rated sub?

If Im not mistaken, this is referred to as a sub's transient response, or ability to change frequencies without distorting or something to that effect. If you gotta have different sizes and crossovers due to its TR, your subs are teh **** and you fail.
once again I DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE DIFFERENT SIZES.... I WANT THEM... theoretically if you had a different speaker playing every frequency you'd have the best SQ and SPL possible... but at least i didn't go that far.. i only have 2 sizes

Thats just stupid. Ever heard of the Law of Diminishing Returns?

First off, thats NOT what you implied and therefore its not obvious. You implied that 15's can get lower than other, smaller subs.. which is completely false. At the same token, 15's can outplay ANY size sub with similar motor structure and suspension due to its surface area if we use your logic. And yes, the majority understands surface area... but to what degree is the question. So in essence DIAF and have a nice day.
Not at all, I said 15s play lower notes lower, and I said 15s because they usually have a larger surface area to them.

Sorry for the misinterpretation, then. I'd like to leave it at this, since I'm in a really pissy mood tonight over my fiance.

I take back all i said therefore, that was harsh

Yall are starting to sound like 2 13 year old girls arguing back and forth cotjones just drop it untill someone has heard, seen your system you can argue all day and no one is going to believe you so just go to the NC meet and let people see it.
i tried to drop it several times but nooooo everyone wants to argue about the multisub setup... and yes you have to measure cancellation with an o scope because audibly cancellation sounds like a decrease in volume or sometimes distortion an oscope will tell you if the signals that the subs are putting out are going to cancell

lol. Girl problems. I hear ya. I think we're pretty much on the same page, we just cant communicate it.

Um no. You still dont get it. An o-scope will measure the electrical waves coming from the amp, not the sound waves from the sub. And no, it wont tell you if theyll cancel. You would need to get the exact phase response charts for the subs and have massive amounts of time correction tuning.

And the law can be applied to ANYTHING. Not just economics. Like you can throw so many watts at a speaker until it reaches its xmax, but adding more power wont make it louder...

ok i see ur point there i had just never heard it used in an application other than economics and i don't understand how the o scope wouldn't tell you if the "initial waves output from the subs would cancel... as for echoed sound waves they aren't as important but i doubt they'd cancel anyway... but would not the o scope give you an accurate rep. of the subs movement since the sub is responding to the signal you are sending it?

yeah it was an oscilliscope he judged whether or not the wave forms were in phase = cancellation.... they werent ....yet another thread taken off subject to trash my system
If you had taken the time to read up a little and not cling so defensively to wrong statements, it wouldn't have gotten this far //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Wrong.

Shoot me an IM sometime, I'd be glad to go over your points one by one. You clearly have some misunderstandings, but they can be cleared up...

He's right on this one cotI personally use my oscope to trace out problems with my amps
i'm perfectlly willing to admit i'm wrong but it makes sence to me that it would show cancelation... i'll do more tests though but from what i understand it's not very hard to get rid of cancellation if i do have it
