Never heard the memphis gold subs but the MTX i have heard and it is a real monster for SPL.

Ive ben thru a bunch of MTX 9500's and 7000's, they all have cracking problems if you plan to really use them for SPL.....really could get better for your money like the Memphis M3's....and at least with the memphis you can recone them easily. unlike the entire MTX line.

some other considerations for you would be :

TC-3000

RD Audio Elite or Alpha

Massive Audio CW or DMX

SI Magnum

No just some options but dont wanna spend to much on subs no more than $400
