MINI Cooper S First build Memphis Car Audio (PICS)

Hello everyone. I am very new to the car audio world but I am trying to learn as much as I can. This is my first car, My 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW. For my setup I had $1000 to play with and this is what I did. Im not very handy with wood or electrical so I had my local shop install it all for me. My local shop only carries Memphis, Image Dynamics, and Pioneer. I chose Memphis because I like the warranty and I wanted to get the most bass I could get for 1000$ and I listen to Rap, which is why i got a 12 inch. So, this is what I ended up with, I am semi-happy because when the bass control is turned more then half way it gets distorted or something and it sounds bad..I don't know how to describe it, but when the knob is at about a quarter the way up it sounds good.

well that is why bass boost is crap! it sends a clipped signal thats why! keep that all the way down bro!

bass boost on my amp? Because that is all the way down. doesn't the RVC control the gain, because thats what im talking about... if you look in the pictures its below my steering wheel.

shoulda done some reading on here first. Your running 500RMS in a prefab box with 1 12" sub. Yes memphis makes nice gear, but not worth a grand.

If you would have read here first, you could be running something much better, WITH warranty.

For example, you could have a 15" Fi BL on a Sundown SAZ1500D (15" sub on 1500RMS watts, triple the power), and a custom ported box for LESS, even if you had a shop build the box for you.

You should have asked around here for opinions before you bought that gear...IMO

Could a 15" Fi BL and a custom box fit in the trunk of a MINI Cooper? Because as it is the box is literally the biggest it can get and still close the hatch

You could have done 2 shallow mount 10's or 12's in the back even a new single MAG would've been nice and still have had enough for a nice amp and nice components up front.

Well ****. Ive had it in my car for about 4 days now... is it too late to do something about it? Phantom Electronics was were I bought everything from and they also installed it. What should I do now?

but if the control is all the way down then the sub doesn't work at all.. like there is 0 bass
