dont really understand this too much man if your reconing subs its prolly cause you clipped the shit out of it an burned the coils up or played the sub at a lower freq then needed be. sure some subs can take more than they are rated but if they are gettin clean rated or over power they will last longer than your amp.

yeah clip is bad and very bad on 10k rms. The hifonics i have as 3 stage clipping LED. pre clip, soft clip, hard clip

x2 on smaller box should handle the power better... Should have made it a little bigger though... could have done 3x 6" ports... looks a little short on port for your box size
