Look My Design Over! For my friends Mustang. 2 12" JL's

brutusboxpic.jpg

like that....

thats a pic a guy trying to build the box sent me to see if it was correct because I had built the design or a variation of it on many occasions..

the design came from a dif forum by a factory rep that also is an expert in the field and a former world champ it has worked amazingly well so if it is incorrect I would like to know lol

You did something wrong. A 12.5"x3.5" port opening is going to take up 12.5"x5" inside the box, times whatever length you need. You're saying the port is only taking up .28ft^3, which would mean it's only 7.75" long inside the box.
12.5"x5"x7.75" = 484.375in^3

484.375 / 1728 = .2803ft^3
correct i fat ******** the calc and forgot to calculate the total length that is only the 2 L's lol

it should be closer to 2.77 cf right?

Didn't you get the memo? SicAudio is never wrong when it comes to car audio. That and Maxxsonics is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
yeah sure dude... that is why I am asking for clarification...

How did that wind up sounding?

I agree with RAM in the port discussion. I also second guess my lengths though...I wind up doing the math at least 10 times before I talk myself into cutting LOL.

I figure the needed length for both a single big port and dual ports, and find the difference. Then I figure the added length I need based on what percentage of the port is after the split...seems to work well. Like if I need 4" more length per port using dual 12"x2" ports, and I have half of the port length in the single port and half after the split, I'll simply add 2" to the overall length needed.

Kinda hard to word right, but a lot easier in my own head. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
