I just got done with this one, its 2.29 cubes at 38-39 hertz. the port is 2" x 12" with a port length of 17 1/4". With sub displacement it will bump that up to 40-41 for tuning and thats just what I want. Its 2 Old school JL audio subs getting about 500Rms. Thanks!

before i got to it the amp was in the back with his baseball stuff bouncing around. So im just taking the 2 Shat boxes he has out now and making him something 'decent' and i know what hes looking for, so thanks for your 2 cents.....

first off are you sure that will fit? if its a truck mustang the opening is a veryy small opening so check that! personal id tune lower for daily with hiphop rock ect....

Box is too small and tuned too high...if you actually like listening to music you'll be irritated by the big difference in output between 35hz and 50hz.

shoulda went 3.5 with that compression design and tuned at 36-38....

a box that small for 2 of them is gonna **** ballz...

Actually on The 12 volt's calculator, With that size (2.29^ft), I'm actually at 36-37 Hz Before Sub Disp

Yes, I agree 100%, But this is what he wanted... I was very limited by the opening of the trunk. I made a model out of cardboard and did a test fit and it was close but it will fit. right now he just has 2 truck boxes in there and there the Kragen specials....

EDT: and i ran the option of doing two bigger seprate boxes at a larger price though due to wood used and he didnt want to.

Should i go with a 4" Round port then?? box is 2.75^ft by its-self....

i come up with pretty close to that.. after port and both subs i got 2.04 cf which with your port length makes out at right about 38.3Hz..

you can get a better tune in less space using round ports ( they take up less airspace is why ) it is really a matter of preference tho... my ears tell me slot is louder but it may just be my ears...

Yes something in the final sound of definite bass and not a 'whooshed' or cross washed bass.

if they are several years old ( W3 or W0 ) they will do fine but newer models will hate that box and sound horrible lol

there the ones where the dust cap is fuggin huge and like a silver gold and flat, the cone is only showing like 1 1/2" around before the surround. and its off of a 1200w 4 channel amp, with 2 channels going to the 6x9"s i dont remember the brand.
