Box design for daily

2 12 b2 rage

That is my box design for 2 12 inch b2 rage v2 2 ohm. Tuned to 30 hz. The box will be made from 3/4 maple with a double front baffle

35x15x27.55 is the box tuned to 30hz

Port area is 70

Port is width x height @ 5.19x13.50

Port is 34.44 for length.

This is for a daily and not sure what its going in yet but want the box to be pretty universal while still slamming the lows in mid 20hz but being very musical playing into the 60hz

This is just for the box design and my thought is a very solid box design. Thoughts & opinions please.

Thank you

It sounds like an interesting design! If you need feedback on specific aspects or have questions, let me know!

Thank you guys for replying. I am hoping to play from 23hz up to about 61hz

Love this hobby, just is a very expensive one at that!

Any recommendations or advice on the box would be loved. For bracing I was going to do a dalrod to help brace and prevent flexing.

Originally the box had a 3.5 inch port at 22 inches long but was afraid it would be way to small. So increased to 5.5 and extended the length

What is your net ft3 after displacements?

It is 4.8 ft after subs, port & brace displacement.

Overall it is 6.8 cubic feet before all of that
.This is being made out of 3/4 maple wood and the front will be double baffled

The enclosure looks fine, it'll probably meet goals as you designed it. Depending on the amount of power I'd personally stick to the tuning but shade the volume a little closer to 4.5ft3 with 75in2 of port area. That'll lower your port velocities to acceptable levels at full tilt and undersizing the volume slightly shouldn't hurt at all. Typically when 2 subs share a common chamber they "see" a slightly larger volume anyway. Plus if big power is applied slightly undersized volume is a good practice.
4.5ft3 net/75in2 of port is a little over 16.5in2^ft3 and for those 2K rms subs I'd probably go with that.

The hobby can be a bit pricey and becomes an obsession at times... haha.

My advice would be to ditch "subbox" and learn to model. See how your gear actually performs with power applied. Then possibly learn to actually draw up plans.
This is a modeled up enclosure drawn up in Sketchup. Subbox is a rendering calculator I believe... not modeling software.

As to the third statement you made above ^^^^. Good thing you increased port area.

9.84in2^ft3 is awfully small and would have had tons of port compression at any level above elevator music.

Thank you, I did make those adjustments and am now 4.5 with 75 port area while keeping 30hz.

Here are the subs I have. They are B2 rage V2 2 ohm 12 inch. I had 1 in a D4S pro fab v2 box and now have no vehicle set up fpr them, as what i did have the build going on i ended up trading it for a daily which now starting all over again lol. Components, amps, you guys know lol.

It took me forever to get both of these then v3 and v4 came out right after I got these or else I would have the v4 version lol.

I m very happy with what I have tho and cant wait to hear them going. Plan is to get a taramps smart bass 5k for them eventually.

When I had 1 12 it was powered by a taramps bass 1200 and wow. It got louder, deeper & sounded then I thought it would and I was expecting it to be loud. Just not that loud off 1200 watts. Very efficient sub.

I am coming from my previous system which was 2 12 memphis mojos and while those things get extremely loud and low, these rages are on another level!
