Is Car Audio Dying?

If you have less assholes bumping around your town/street, then you sould be thankfull, because that shit is annoying.
**** attn *****s.

Worst part is that they're always playing some stupid *** songs, hip-hop/rap or mariachi around here...
Yes, I would say its people having some respect for others but its probably just the fear of a noise violation. Either way its nice to not hear idiots bumping through my neighborhood.

LOL at some the peeps up in this thread, like the HS student saying things are not the same as back in the day.
The sky is not falling, carry on.
I'm sorry, but if you're in HS there is no "back in the day" for you unless you're talking about when your parents were bumpin uglies before you were born.

Hah, not to mention that anyone who has a decent system and has any sense does not want to advertise the fact that their shit is worth stealing.

Most people don't have "sense"...its a rarity these days.

My stuff is added to my insurance policy, if somebody steals it, oh well. Thats still not going to make me go bumping down residential streets, or even in town anywhere with the windows down for that matter. I'm sure everybody at a stoplight doesn't agree with my taste in music.

But the main reason I don't turn my music up around people is that I refuse to be "that guy", even if by accident.

Face it, if you actually turn up the volume at stop lights or when you pull up around a group of people you are a fvcking attention seeking ***.

haha, only reason I sound deaden, get rid of rattles, and try to be as quiet as possible outside. I too refuse to be that guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm not 15 anymore, best not act like it

i dont think it makes you an attention ***** if you play it around a group of people.
stoplight is another story
We are talking about two different things (I hope). If you are providing the background music as entertainment for a group of friends who are sitting around bullshitting that is one thing. (especially if you are not in a place where you would not disturb others).

On the other hand, if you were to spot a group of people (your friends or otherwise) sitting in a parking lot and you reach down to turn up the volume as you pull up then you would = ***.

Well lately I've being going out a lot, and I rarely see peeps bumping. Back in L.A it was the same. Back then when I was going through elementary and middle school through the early and late 90's I saw more cars with systems, playing in the streets etc. Do you guy's seet it declining?
Sounds like people in LA are starting to wise up.

You dont here stereo's probably because people are tired of getting their shit jacked, so they are being responsible

What a concept eh?

Iam not worried people getting out of car audio. As long as there is car audio products, car audio accessories and mdf I will be happy. I could be the only person around that has a set-up and i would care.

I dont think I am the only person the feels like that.

what about at the drive in?
If you are talking about sitting in amidst all of the patrons at a Sonic with your shit bumping then I would think that was pretty feggy to be honest. If there was no other patrons around and you and some friends were listening to music in the background that would be acceptable I guess. Although, to tell the truth, there is almost always going to be some other people around so I would just avoid that. Then again, at my age I go to the drive in to get eats and leave, not to hang out.

I blame the car companies.

Almost every car they make has a stereo (or 5.1 ch video sys) in it thats so integrated into the dash its too expensive to replace it at shop labor rates.

Plus those systems are (just barely) good enough that people think twice before going for the better sound from after market systems.

A lot of truth in that statement.

Audio scene has never been popular around here, all the guys just have their 4wd's with mud tires and cb's. Just a select few people I hang out with still have systems but there has even been a decrease within out group in the last couple of years.
