i was bored and wanted to just hear my sub, no mids, no tweeters. so i turned the mids off and the tweeters off and just left the sub playing and was very shocked at what i heard. i heard mid-range and even vocals through the sub. are 12 db slopes on subs really this shallow?
here is a vid to show you what i mean, it came out kind of quiet so you'll have to turn your volume up quite a bit, and for some reason my camera doesn't pick up bass very well at all. but doesn't this seem to be a very shallow slope? i found it weird that the sub is playing up this far in the mid-range.
