Is a 12db slope on a sub really this shallow?!?!?

i was bored and wanted to just hear my sub, no mids, no tweeters. so i turned the mids off and the tweeters off and just left the sub playing and was very shocked at what i heard. i heard mid-range and even vocals through the sub. are 12 db slopes on subs really this shallow?

here is a vid to show you what i mean, it came out kind of quiet so you'll have to turn your volume up quite a bit, and for some reason my camera doesn't pick up bass very well at all. but doesn't this seem to be a very shallow slope? i found it weird that the sub is playing up this far in the mid-range.

sorry, the link works now!

Yes it is a very shallow slope. You would be able to hear low vocals and such
i'm hearing more then low vocals. it seems like i'm hearing most of the vocal range and even some synthesized keyboard and stuff that seems decently high.

i was shocked to say the least.

i wonder how much more upfront my bass would sound if i used a steeper slope on the sub.

i always just set my hpf as low as sounds good, then start raising my lpf until it blends with my mids

if i hear vocals comin from my sub when i turn my fronts off, o well, as long as it sounds good when i have my mids and highs playing
