I'm thinking of going JL Audio need some opinions.

I picked up that #1 welding power wire it's pretty nice the company is Radnor and the specs on the roll say it recommends 300 amps per 25 feet which is way more then I need. It's pretty flexible too compared to the stinger 0 gauge i had before.

For the subs I'm thinking about getting either the t3 audio T.600-12d or the Sundown SA-12's.

Welding wire is usually a lot more flexible, because there's less insulation on it compared to car audio wire.
Yeah it looks really nice I'm hoping my ring terminals show up today so I can do the big 3 and at least get my power wire installed tomorrow.

I want to find an intake like this http://image.4wdandsportutility.com/f/8570313%2Bw750%2Bst0/0701_4wd_06_z%2B1996_jeep_grand_cherokee%2Bengine.jpg so I can get rid of the stock box and stick a 2nd battery in there it would be great.

you're going to be a lot happier with those sa-12s than those jl audios.

i bet if you could listen to the system you *were* going to buy along side the system you are putting in now, you will know you made the right choice.

lol
I found a local welding supply place that has #1 welding power cable 25 foot rolls for $52, he says he runs 350-400 amps thru it fine so it would definitely hold what I need. My only question is if I have 0 gauge connectors and ring terminals will it be too small to fit in them?
if it doesn't fit in the terminal you can always cut away the braid a little bit to make it fit. and before you ask 'will this be ok?' it's going to be fine.

well id put my sa-12's against any jl sub. .trust me been there I had 2-12"w3's paid big $$for went thru this forum and bought sundowns sa-12 and they put jl ashame I will never over pay for jl stuff again. .

i took a w2 12 on a trade, only worked out to payin 50 bucks for it, tried it out, it ******. sold it for 150 on cl

Well I just finished upgrading the BIG THREE with the #1 welding cable couple things threw me off but I eventually got it, luckily I still had the stinger terminals from when I had a stinger battery in my other car.

Positive to alternator and alternator to fuse box. Thank god the terminals have 8 gauge ports on them as well so I was able to fit the 8 gauge starter wire on.

Negative to chassis and Engine.

Now to find a nice spot to run the power wire thru the firewall.

PS: Pretty sure I'm going to need a new battery when I put the terminal on the negative it had like 0 spark. It says 700 cca and 875 cranking amps so it's not a small one I like that.

Screw what everyone says jl is top notch stuff. I say run 2 w6's and a 1000/1

OP:

You're going to have to drill to get that welding cable through the firewall. Peel back the floor mat on the passanger side where it comes up is a good spot. I have the same jeep and that's where I went through. A straight shot from the battery and not much to run into with the drill bit on the way through.

Also I ran my RCA's up the top of the dash and under the headliner to the back. Was very easy and keeps it away from power lines that can introduce radiated noise.

ALSO. If you have a voltmeter, let me know what yours idles at for voltage. Mine was mid 13's and I needed to add an outboard regulator to get 14.4 for proper charging.

I was going to put the rca's on the other side of the jeep, the only thing I was worried about with that was the fact that the head unit sits in the metal thing does that get in the way?

There's a hole in the back that you can wiggle stuff right up. If you pop that piece of trim at the front of the dash you can see wires as you stuff them through the back behind the HU.

You won't regret getting good welding cable. I've had the same piece for ages now and just pull it and use it on the next car I buy. My power and ground and big 3 cables have gone through 3 installs now.
