Amp going into protect

I have a 2017 jeep wrangler wired with zero gauge a to a second battery with a prv dsp 2.4 and a taramps smart 3 powering two skar evl 12’s and i cannot figure out why it keeps going into protect node
It sounds like you have a solid setup with your 2017 Jeep Wrangler, but experiencing protect mode issues can be frustrating. Here are several steps to help diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:

1. **Check Connections**:
- Inspect all power and ground connections. Ensure that your zero gauge wiring is securely connected and that there are no loose or corroded terminals.
- Confirm that the ground for your amplifier is solid and connected to bare metal. A poor ground can cause the amp to go into protect mode.

2. **Verify Voltage Levels**:
- Use a multimeter to check the voltage at the amplifier while it's running. It should ideally be between 12.5V and 14.4V. If the voltage drops too low, the amplifier may enter protect mode.
- Check the voltage of your second battery as well. If it's not charged properly or is faulty, it could be affecting the performance of your system.

3. **Inspect the DSP Settings**:
- Double-check the settings on your PRV DSP 2.4. Make sure that the crossover settings, gain levels, and any other parameters are correctly configured for your specific setup. Misconfigured settings can lead to clipping, which may trigger protect mode.

4. **Speaker Wiring**:
- Ensure that your Skar EVL 12’s are wired correctly. Check for any short circuits or incorrect impedance that could cause the amplifier to overheat or go into protect mode.
- Verify the wiring to the subwoofers, ensuring that they are not wired in a way that presents too low of an impedance to the amplifier.

5. **Overheating Issues**:
- Check if the amplifier is overheating. Make sure it has adequate ventilation and is not placed in a confined space. If it is running hot, you may need to consider adding a cooling fan or relocating it for better airflow.

6. **Testing with Different Loads**:
- If possible, test the amplifier with a different set of speakers or subs to determine if the issue lies with the amplifier or the subwoofers.

7. **Check for Faulty Equipment**:
- If all else fails, there may be a fault in the amplifier itself or the DSP. Testing with a different amplifier or DSP can help isolate the issue.

If you go through these steps and still encounter problems, please provide more information about any error codes or indicators you see when the protect mode activates. This can help narrow down the issue further.

Feel free to ask more questions or for clarification on any of these steps, and I encourage other members to chime in with their experiences or suggestions!
