MT > XXX > SX > HC > SE > RE in terms of SPL. SQ is a bit more subjective so I'll leave that alone.

Kinda funny little fact, after talking with Wowimzz. We've come to the conslusion that this is his stolen HC. Not 100% sure but almost!! Very small world.

Ha ha, I was at a local shop here called webbs and he had a HC tryin to tell me its a XXX

its the hc that was stolen from me. thank god nobody bought it yet. its "blown" i wonder why. it only has wires on 1 vc, some noob only wired 1 i spose.. im going to look at it later today

The seller claims its an XXX. One of the old **** cone ones, but someone question him saying it isn't an XXX. I'm not an expert on older RE products so I was wondering if anyone here would know what it is. If its not an XXX, I think it might be and HC. Either way I'll probably be buying it and having it reconed.

I was the one who sent the seller the message explaining his sub is in fact NOT a XXX. I explained the motor is all wrong (3 small slugs instead of 2 large ones, wrong backplate, wrong vent size, wrong top plate).... his reply? "You sure are cocky for someone who doesn't know what it is". He is a dumbass, plain and simple.

i was wandering who that was that sent it. after i saw the white mark on the cone from my drill slipping, i knew that it was a hc. god id love to have this woofer back. hopefully i go there and explain to him what happend, and he hands it to me, or gives it to me for VERY cheap.

Hey man, I'm from mooresville and saw that sub in webbs the other day on hanna. Dude is an *** and isn't gonna give it to you. But if you filed a police report go in there with the cops and get it. Or I can go in there with you and just take it. PM me if you need someone to go with you.

well, i just got back from the shop that was selling the woofer. It is infact mine, they have all my information. The shop bought it off an x-employee for 60$. It is blown to hell. On one of the coils, the lead is burnt from the cone to the soldering point. the other coil is burnt to a crisp. It still has my wire on the connections. Funny thing is, when i talked to the shop owner, he didnt even know there was a crack in the cap until I asked him about it. He knows everything that happened to my car, and he has the pictures. He is gonna go to the guy that he bought it from tonight, since they both work close to each other. If i didnt have to work i would have gone in with him. His exact words "I have no problem releasing the speaker back to you." Don seems like a good guy in my books. He is going to find out about the woofer, and maybe even find my amp. The woofer is currently sitting in the employee section of the shop.

XXX is NOT an SPL sub, its an SQL sub. You know, one that gets 90% as loud as an SPL sub while maintaining very good SQ. The SX is what RE called their 'street beater', basically made as a loud dailydriver sub that retains 'good' SQ. The SX has been shown to burp louder than the XXX, but the test criteria has been debated back and forth. My conclusion? The XXX was not receiving its ideal power (needed more) while the SX was (just about all it could handle). But, even given that, the SX does have a notorious peak in output, that when coupled with the enclosure's tuning point and the vehicle's resonant freq, can be quite loud.

Where the debate usually turns nasty is when people assume this means the SX is 'louder', period... its not. It peaks louder, but playing a full frequency spectrum the subs would endure while playing music, the XXX has alot more displacement potential and will be louder on average.
