Its the same thing right? Negligence that could lead to a death.
While we're at it, i want a sin tax put on all unhealthy food.
We have sin tax to cover the supposid health care costs when all these smokers and alchies die right?
not a horrible ideaAll cars shouls be equipped with bluetooth hands free as standard equipment.
And I guarantee most people in this thread talk on their cell phones while driving
I feel the same way driving and talking on the phone. I've never seen a decent driver on the cell phone and I admit it screws up my driving too.Does anyone else fell stupid, or like an @sshole when they are driving while using the phone? i do, i think its b/c i am always pi$$ed off at others when they are doing it. So when i do it i feel like everyone is looking at me the same way
True, but what if it is an emergency?.....................................all my calls are emergencys! In New Jersey they just added the hands free law....Ticket for texting or talking on phone (without blue tooth). Though a blue tooth is no different then holding a cell phone...You are still focused on the conversation going on more then you're driving. Why cant you just wait till you get to your destination to dial or text back the person who called you.Just my $0.02
Good points, but I am fat and work as hard as a skinny dude does.........actually harder, so that point is moot. Also the company I work for has their associates go out to the picnic area to smoke and take the same amount of time as the other associates. It's all time irreguardless if you smoke or not. Then lets start putting bans on joggers\bikers who listen to music while jogging\running\biking because they are paying less attention as well. Lets also put a ban on people who wear hats too low or with too much of a curve because it restricts their vision making them more dangerous to public safety.
Lets also ban people going out in rain storms\snow storms\extreamly windy times because that is also a hazard.
We should also ban people from driving during rush hour, because that is when the most accidents happen.
Smokers should be paid less because they take longer breaks, and companies should also look at not hiring body builders and fat people because both extremes eat too much and will not get as much work done due to this fact.
Ban Wheelchairs in public places because i have seen alot of people almost bump into them and that could cause serious injury.
Draw a line folks.
ah yes, but i can talk on my phone and not crash or piss off other drivers, Just as some people can drink and drive. Subway is fast food, but you are correct. What would you be taxing and if you tax it mc d's will just do what they did when super size me came out, change their shit up a bit to meet regulations. But i guess that would not be so bad it would mean they are serving healthier food.Potential for causing an accident could hold true for cell-phone talking just as much as DUI. The distraction from driving is the issue. DUI holds impairment in it's hand as well.Following too close is a major cause as well. Traffic cams in Europe have moved from ticketing speeder to ticketing tail-gaters as well.
If you tried to tax fast food, the companies would find a way to not make it 'fast food'. What would be the taxing criteria? Fat content (look at 5 star menus around the world), drive-thru, price, menu content, prep time, customer base(hah)? If I call Outback, they will have my food ready when I drive up and bring it to me; fast food? Is Subway fast food?
Who said i wanted to target fast food specifically? And no, i dont think someone who's becoming a porker off of a 5 star menu is any better than a bum getting tubby on the dollar menu.Potential for causing an accident could hold true for cell-phone talking just as much as DUI.
