Hey I'm thinking I got a sub going bad ..during loud play it sounds like its bottoms out until I turn gain knob down a little but the other one just slams no problem when I push down on that sub sounds like somethings dragging these are sundown v3's any help or other help to determine if this sub is going bad

Would that cause a burning smell?? Hell these only have about 20hrs of play time and are less then a yr old

Oh I know which one it is just by listening to it and gently pushing down on it u can feel the rubbage I guess I'll I see how much these will cost to ship //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

There are guys on this site tht knws much more then what I do.....but is the subs getting the ryt amount of rms power? Cos I knw tht underpowering a sub causes distortion and damages subs no matter what!....is the resistance on the amp the same as the subs final load?....rms affects the subs overall performance....head room on amps is key to cleaner bass frequencies

And are u running tht subs on seperate monoblocks.....or 2channel amps....or is both connected to a single monoblock. (2 terminal sets)?.....could be the amp sending dirty power to the one sub.....is the subs in equal chambers?

Forgive me for being a grammar Nazi, but clean that 5hit up, second underpowering a subwoofer would not cause damage if its unclipped, do your subs and speakers give out on you when you have your headunit on 10 out of 50? im pretty sure they dont and having volume that low is WAYY underpowering subs and speakers man...

OP i had the same problem with a W3, i gutted it and coil was rubbing bad and my sub isn't worth a recone, i dont know how much a recone will cost for your particular sub, but im pretty sure its alot less than trying to fix my w3, this could have been different factors, maybe just a bad apple or some user error, but NOT from underpowering your subs, hope this helps OP
