Your not fitting an 18 in an eclipse like yours with proper space requirements in the trunk. I have been there, trust me I took all the plastic out the hatch and even cut some bracing on the car and the box still wouldn't fit, and 2 is out of the question unless your doing a wall. I am even curious to see you fit 4 12's in there with proper space. It can probably be done but I would like to see how to get an idea, as I might like to do that also.

is the hatch area smaller even with the seat down than the sec gen eclipse? uve seen that vid with the 2 18" LMS Ultras in a sec gen with proper space?

These cars **** for space. I think my measurements without the plastic were 34" wide 22" length 15" height. With the plastic in I would probably subtract 2 inches all the way around just to allow room for error and curves.

and as for subs i would go with two of these

either 12 or 15 ported, make sure you have enough room to fit the proper enclosure and room in the trunk left for the waves to get in the vehicle

based on your level of knowledge you might not want to get to complicated. the outcome will likely be worse than just going with a basic setup

No 15" is depth 22" is like the left and right sides. It's actually like 18" from bottom of trunk to top with the hatch closed, but then again I had the plastic covering off the lid of the hatch, I even had to take it off for the enclosure I have now for it to fit.
