I've had my current system in my car for a lil while now. For the sub it's been a 15" Fi Q in a ported box 3 cubes tuned to 32hz off of around 1k. No complaints really, just getting a little bored.

I'm debating whether or not to double the cone area with with 3 kenwood w2512 woofers in around 3.6 cubes @ 33 hz off the same power. They all would be sharing the same chamber. I can get these woofers at a great price.

So that would be double the cone area of my Q. Think it would make a huge difference? or would I be wasting my time?

honestly it would be just about the same output as far as spl goes but ure going to lose the SQ the Q will give you.....to be honest your replacing the Q which is a great sub with ..........welll kenwood subs:crap:

How did you come to this conclusion?
Ive never been a fan of Kenwood subs, but its always tough deciding between fewer nicer subs, or more lesser subs. Is 1.2 cubes per 12 really enough for those Kenwoods ported? That's very small for the average 12's requirements in a ported enclosure.

the kenwood subs I am looking at putting in are actually 10's. The original plan was to do 3 10" type r's, but I really don't have the power to back those up right now.

Kenwood reccomendation is anywhere between .75-1.75 ported I believe. 3.6 is as big as I could possibly go in my vehicle.
