how easy is it to get past a 2 way alarm?

put a siren next to your brain and next to your stuff in your trunk. Thats what I'm doing.

Also, weird *** screws. Triangles, One-Ways, Square, Hex, Allen.

I used them all for my one sub and my amp.
So when they're looking for the easy to locate siren the stumble upon the brain?

I understand your reasoning, but I wouldn't give the slightest hint as to where the brain was.

I'd say do the install yourself if you feel comfortable doing it.Use a backup battery for sure (for alarm brain + sirens) and put a couple of piezo mini sirens

http://cgi.ebay.com/CAR-ALARM-LOUD-MINI-PIEZO-SIREN-VIPER-CLIFFORD-DEI-513T_W0QQitemZ200146724190QQihZ010QQcategoryZ60203QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

inside the car bolted under the dash.

Run a separate battery backup for the sirens inside and for your under hood siren use one with a built in battery backup also. Like this:

15R_W0QQitemZ150156933905QQihZ005QQcategoryZ60203QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'd also connect to the alarm a couple of StreetGlow red and blue strobe lights in the front dash/windshield and power them from the same battery backup as the piezo's inside the car.

Loud as hell, bright flashing and painfully loud inside the car also!

With all stated above & a hood lock this very likely will be the result if the punk ***** decide to foolishly try: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/dont.gif.ed5870f9483b695f9745036963f41c24.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

ok so even if a pager tells u that someone broke into your car, are ya gonna run outside, chase the thief down, somehow tackle him/her and hold him/her there until the cops come?

ummm no.

most theives will run once they see you coming after them. most theives dont have the balls to stick around to see if shots go off...

if the thief runs away...guess what? im good to go. i bought the alarm to keep MY stuff safe. so even if they dont get caught, at least i dont loose my shit.

I just arm my system and leave my doors unlocked. I guarantee the first thing that a thief does is check the doors to see if they are unlocked. Once the door opens the alarm goes off and the thief leaves. Sure as hell beats a broken window cuz if the door is locked that's exactly the second thing the thief will do. No need for a shock sensor since there will be no shocks from rocks or bricks or whatever. Now if I'm in a mall or something then i'll lock them just to prevent opening of the door and grabbing stuff. At my home I'll have the lead ready before anything goes down.

My process eliminates false alarms 100% and I never have to get up in the middle of the night for nothing. If my alarm ever goes off I know someone is in my car and it's go time.

A smart thief will first check for the evidence of a alarm system by first sight by seeing if there is the flashing LED & hearing by lightly hitting to see if there are warning chirps from the dual stage shock.

Once the door opens, the alarm goes off and the thief leaves.

This is the desired outcome. Extra sirens & interior pain generating Piezo's will surely help to speed this up! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Referring to what I mentioned above, a good dual stage shock will give the warning chirps with a light 'test' hit to put the punk(s) on notice even BEFORE all this other transpires. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am hoping the door triggers are hardwired into the system instead of relying on just current sensing by the dome light which could burn out & is not as a reliable method. Especially if you are just using the door triggers to alarm & nothing else.

If someone is breaking into your ride they already know what you have. Shock sensors do nothing but cause false alarms. Unless you have high dollar rims and tires or convertible there is no reason to have a shock or prox sensor. I live in a navy town so jets fly constantly and shocks just make neighbors irritated and less likely to respond to an alarm going off.

Anyone using a current sensing alarm is a moron. Anyone without door, hood, trunk triggers is also a good darwin award candidate.

my car JUST got broke into this morning........

NO ALARM SADLY //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

3 days ago mine was broken into..no alarm..i asked my parents for one for my bday..which is today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

All you need is a flashing LED. If a theif still targets your car they are going after it regardless of an alarm, they know that you hvae something you want.

Say you own a Civic and your at the mall. The theif sees 10 civics... yours is the only one with a flashing LED....you think he's really going to go into yours when 9 others don't have an alarm?

And with that said, I have a badass compustar 2way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Just to make my self feel better.

And to the guy that leaves his doors unlocked... I could rip out a HU by the time your even 1/4 of the way to the car when your alarmed of it.

Not necessarily.

False. The setting of the sensitivity has MUCH to do with the proper use of shock sensors. You can set them manually or through your remote.

I have had a unsuccessful twarted attempted break-in back in 94 & the reason the alarm went off is because the shock caught them as they broke my drivers side front window. If I did not have a shock, they could have further continued to do damage & compromise my alarm system.

To sum up: shock & other sensors can & will help, but the key to success (without a abnormal amount of falsing) is the correct & proper sensitivity setting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That could be one of the main reasons you are turned off by them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/idea.gif.5acb6a39a9b92425414c316dda202bad.gif

Current sensing does have it's advantages. For example, if the electrical system is tampered with.

I guess I just have a criminals point of view, that's all. If I'm looking for a civic to break into and I don't have a clue what any 10 of them have inside I will go for the one with the LED because he's probably got something inside that is of value if he is trying to deter thieves.

Yes, it is possible to rip out my HU before I fill your a$$ with lead. Feel free to test this theory whenever you like on whomever you like.

Your alarm went off when your window was broken. That's great. All you had to do was replace the $100+ window. If you would have left the door unlocked the same result would have taken place but you'd be $100+ richer.

Point being I'm sure that 99% of people with a shock sensing alarm have had a false alarm on more than one occasion. You know that sinking feeling when your alarm goes off and the adrenaline starts pumping and you start shaking ready to kill someone that's in your ride?

I never get that.

If someone wants it there is nothing you can do except get good insurance, move to a nice area and keep good friends.

That's the best way to defeat them (think like they do & but don't cross the line) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

While that can be true, are you really going to risk it???

Yes, it is possible to rip out my HU before I fill your a$$ with lead. Feel free to test this theory whenever you like on whomever you like.

I also did see this smart *** response challenging you about your HU. My response would be to anchor strap the back so it is hard to remove. Also, if you just had silent alarm & not audible, most likely the punk(s) would have no clue you have been alerted, giving you a better chance of "filling their *** with lead"! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

While that could have been true, especially because of my 4 siren's which would have & did put more scare into them to move on, I still could have had something missing.

Think about it: With the door open, the punk(s) could have still grabbed something and run off. On the other hand with the way it went down, the smashed window with tint was blocking their easy access to grab. Hence they ran with nothing. I hope you see my point. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Sure. It is the name of the game sometimes, but like I mentioned above, the correct sensitivity setting will greatly reduce false alarms so if it does activate the chance that it is real is more likely. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not necessarily. Extra sirens & back up's with pager will better insure the proper desired effectiveness of your security alarm system along with a garage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a super bright led in my A-pillar that can easily be seen from far away and someone still tried breaking into my car. I had nothing in sight, even took my custom bezel with a screen mounted in it off. Thief just tried opening the door and my alarm went off. Gotta love the gm's that trigger the domelight when the handle is pulled, regardless of if the door opens or not.
