my new radio or new burglar alarm drained my battery

On your van, when you connected the radio, was it a double din or single din? And e the radio sitting in the 2005 Chevy Van, is it nicely fit or did you improvise? I mean a dash board kit should have come with it. All 12 volts connected to the radio. Pioneer, I think that is Internally bridged radio, meaning higher voltage. Uses negative volts as well as positive volts. So the negative lead to your Pioneer is not grounded. Higher aftermarket radio voltage. The negative is not grounded. Black wire. So that could be the reason for the radio not turn off. Try grounding the black wire to a negative body metal part. The wire leads I mean leading up to the radio. ISO connectors.
