U choose, (what I was told years go) doesn't matter as long as U know which is hooked to positive on amp u will know which is which..

Certainly wouldn't mind using that new 4/0 wire to run my subs as speaker wire.

Apologies for my dumbness. But referring to my wire above. Is the blue positive and the grey negative?

With speaker wire you can choose your own color coding convention. Speaker signals are AC not DC so the pos and neg stipulations are strictly for phase consistency. You can decide your own, just stick with it for every speaker/driver.
