Help installing alpine deck!

update...i tightened the harness into the deck (seller said this happened in his install) and so now the deck does in fact power up...however, i get no sound...it isnt on mute or anything, i checked that...any ideas?

If that player is equipped with an option to turn off the internal amp, then you need to turn that back on. Usually called "power ic" or something along thos lines. If you dont have a manual, you can get one online. If that doesnt work then we'll figure that out when time comes. Try that, if it has the option...

for future reference, you never want to hook up the orange wires. cant tell you why, but ive always been told not to because they can damage your dash lights.

and some alpines you have to actually turn on the sub out.

Ok do this... press MENU selet SETUP, then press MODE. From there press the TRACK UP and DOWN buttons till you see POWER IC and make sure that it is set to the ON setting. Use the ROTARY KNOB to change variables. Once it is in the ON position press MENU and you should be good to go.

is this an "active deck"? if it is theres probably a switch on the outside casing that sets it to 2 way or 3 way active. maybe thats turned to 3 way when it should be 2 way?

Ok, figured it out...The rotary knob must be used to set stuff, not the buttons......THANK YOU TO ALL WHO POSTED IN HERE!!!

ps..sounds great, much better than my Pioneer
