Help installing alpine deck!

I am trying to install a alpine cda 9856 in my car, my issue is that the alpine has a wire called "illumination" this wire is orange...what do i do with this? The gm factory wire lists gray as "headlight dimmer" which is the closest thing to "illumination" in the dash...

second, the alpine has pink which is "audio interrupt"....what do i do with this?

The pioneers i have installed have not had these wires

just put caps on all the wires alone. dont do anything with them. they are all pointless

well, the deck wont even power on, which is why i thought they were critical wires

those wires should not matter. the red and black are really the only ones that should effect that.

Use google and search for your cars wire colors. If the deck isnt turning on at all the you need to get the switched lead figured out. The illumination aint going to do you any good if it doesnt even work....

i just rewired my pioneer and it works fine....perhaps the alpine is bad (just bought from member on here)

Hmmm. Interesting. May be a bad harness as well. I dont know tho. Id contact who you got it from and ask some questions. Til then use the Pioneer. Good luck.

no harness....spliced directly into factory wiring

I was talking about the decks harness, like where it connects to the radio it self. If you know anyone else with an alpine id ask to use their harness and see if that one works. I mean theres only so much you can try til its worthless, know what I mean? Id sell you my Clarion, but then I wouldnt have a hu. If I come up with any other ideas Ill let you know. Also have you researched online at all?

Yes they can. My local shops have them but try to charge $40 for them, sonics has em for 10 bucks.
