Alright cool. I just looked at those specs I just posted and noticed something. The dimensions are 13.5 x 13.5 x 24. And I know the 24" is the length from left to right. But it says the port length is 22." And the port on my box is vertical. How would the port length be 22" if the box is only 13.5" tall?

hm..I would have to look at it again to think. Also, yeah just like nasty impala said, the best would be to build a box for it. It will work in your box, however it is true the AQs like big boxes. But, again it will still outperform your alpine in that box

It's actually not L shaped. It's just a rectangle.

And btw, what would enable me to hit the real lows? Like in Bass I Love You? Is that all about box tuning?

yes and that aq in the right box will murder the lows...it has a high fs which will help with decaf and slowed music

So a large box = hits the low lows hard? And then you just need a sub that likes a large box?

no u can get a small box to hit lows its all in build ..but yes that sub likes a big box...u will be happy ..they can take some power

But will it also be ok on 500 watts? I cant get a new amp right now. Plus I want to do it right if I do, so it would be 1200 watt or so. Which means running 1/0 gauge instead of 4 and also big 3. At what point it an additional battery a good idea?

well im gona be giving mine 2000 each ...it wont be happy with 500 watts but will still be louder and sound better than ur old setup ..and yea 1200 watts is a safe number u wont need a extra battery for that just big 3 amd good agm battery under the hood

EDIT: what are the wiring options for D1 vs. D2 with one sub?
