Guy at car sudio place said some weird things...

buddy of mine had 4 kicker comp vr 15's off an MA audio 4000D (forget the model #, 4000wrms though)......massive ported box......was the loudest FART of bass i've heard (besides 2 mojo 15's off 1 mojo amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )
Is a FART good? :p

What was his enclosure? That is what determines the sound.
Also what were his amps settings?

I don't really know, the subs were in two seperate boxes, and he had 3 amps I beleive.

Justin, lighten up man, besides I wasn't even talking to you. If you feel the need to be the "authority" go to a daycare.

just to let all you haters know, alot of RETAIL shops, hire kids that know nothing onto the sales floor. they are then 'trained' on computers to learn what they need to learn about their department. (i am an employee at circuit city mind you) and they dont really teach them much. these kids are NOT electronics majors... hell, it would be good if they knew anything about electronics actually. and did you (yes whoever is reading this) know about a subs resistance when you first started? most of these kids are just in it for a job to make money, and they want to think that they learned their info from;

A. bosses\co-workers

B. magazienes

C. customers (who seem more knowledgeable than they are)

90% of them do not get on the internet to learn more. and thats being generous. there are some good installers\salesmen, at circuit city - there is NO comission (only monthly bonus' for the sales 'volume' and the extra warranties).

the installers i work with at circuit city, only one of them (that ive met) actually knows his stuff (not that he knows everything, or even claims to)... and only one salesman knows what he is doing (and im trying to buy a pair of CD-1 horns, and IDQ8's from him).

so think of it this way - just be cause a few people on the sales floor are trying to do their job and get you to buy somthing, does NOT mean that the installer sucks.

but i would SERIOUSLY not limit yourself to whats on the shelf at a store. honest to god - there are like 8 products.

and circuit city does NOT sell soloX's to customers. they do not sell 1200.1's, 800.4's 2400.1's, or L7's. and on a second note, soloX's can have really good SQ if done right (in a smaller sealed box that is). so shut your piehole before you assume that they are fart cannons that only will work in a large ported box.

so;

retail stores hire idiots.

shops tend to know more, but not everything.

research your shit before you go looking to buy.

research peoples responses after you hear them.

make a decision based on;

A. Performance

B. Budget

C. Needs

D. Wants

E. looks

i whole hearted agree req

and farts in this case are generally are both as good or bad as the regular methane emmissions, based off my tastes that are not strictly limited to SPL. the fart of the kickers i was reffering to was all spl and essentially....a loud fart... however the memphis's, though being fart in nature in that given install, gave a rather pleasurable yet painful shitzer ton of SPL....so the farts are not always that bad...though my farts are worse than anything you noobs could produce from you colons!!!! fear my methane.... haha

i work at good guys and they dont teach you anything, besides that jl makes teh best eveything and monter cables and power is top of line stuff and there sint anything nearly as good. Oh yeah and caps are really important and that you can not have a good clean sounding system without at least one cap. also i dont consider myself knowlegable but i know mnster isnt worht the cost and caps arent important. so its hard for me to sell something i dont beliave in espically when a pair of rca's cost 200 fu(kin dollars(sold 3 pr) and a jl 1000/1 cost 999.99 bux (sold 2)

when an caraudio shop talks shit on other companies equipment. you have to act like a lawyer and get specific model numbers. I have cought sooooooooo many dumbass in a lie it is not even funny.

Next time you go in there, throw some punches his way and see how quickly he starts to tell the truth.....I would shove him right into any display models.....Let him know you mean business....

Some stores do actually carry the 1200.1, and you can order the L7s off the website.

yea you're right, they don't blow ***. They are not worthy of ***, they blow something else. Your funny by the way, you must be a comedian, lemme get tix to your next show.
My friend had 4 12" kicker comps in his escalade and the bass was laughable, he paid like $1200 for tht system and it was quite hilarious.

so know what you're talking about before you try to "hahaha,uhh,haha,uhh" be cool.
so your baseing everything off the Comps because of one system? I don't understand...if the guy has the money for an Escalade, he shouldn't have bought the low powered entry level Comps...$1200 for a complete system, with four woofers and three amps, not to mention install and the rest....well, that speaks for itself.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
