gorilla - no need to caulk?

Im going shopping today, and its either wood glue w/ silicone caulk to seal, or use all the money on gorilla glue (its pricey), so Im wondering if gorilla glue will seal well enough to not have to use silicone?

Dont use gorilla glue.

Use wood glue, then seal up with inside with silicon.

i am not sure about the price of silicone, but i think home depot has gorilla glue for like 6 bux a bottle...

gorilla glue will definately seal it though. i used gorilla glue, but also went back with silicone just for an extra seal on my box, but imo it was overkill.

Dont use gorrila glue.

It is not the proper application.

Gorilla glue expands and can mess up the fitment of the pieces.

Wood glue would hold much better.

yeah, the expanding gets really annoying after a while too, makes things very messy.

I use construction adhesive and silicone. works better than glue IMHO and each about $3 a tube

Agreed. Only original wood glue will form a true chemical bond between the wood, it will make the box last much longer and add so much more support at the joints.

well considering its fiberboard and the construction adhesive I use says for use with fiberboard on it and since I have used both. I will stick with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif my box weights over 90lbs with my subs and I walk around with it holding 1 handed and it doesnt have a problem staying together even with all the weight stress. I cant say ive had the same expierience of a wood glued box.

I dont think you understand.... wood glue forms a CHEMICAL bond... MUCH stronger than gorilla glue... by ALOT. Not saying gorilla glue cant hold a box together, it will, but wood glue is the best option. Talk to anyone that knows about construction, they'll tell you wood glue.
