Sundowns aren't really built for sealed. Website recommends ported.Still gonna say a dcon. Or maybe a level 2-3, sundown sa 12 or obsidian 12.

I have 2 buying 2 more, have them in 1ft cu enclosures...prior to displacement approx .8 cu after, they sound simply awesome. You will not be dissapointed if you get one. That Dayton does look like a nice sub, seems to get great reviews, liking the 4 Ohm DVC version
All three would be good choices. I personally would be stuck between the Diamond D6 and the Dayton HO, the DC I like better in a ported enclosure.Looks like it's between the Dayton, Diamond D6, and the DC LvL 3
Still leaning towards the DC LvL 3, I just wanted to make sure that the 650W I have will be enough to make it work to it's true potential.
Not that DC.. it did really well sealed. I might even say it did sealed better then ported, but my ported box was a bit larger then specAll three would be good choices. I personally would be stuck between the Diamond D6 and the Dayton HO, the DC I like better in a ported enclosure.
I used to have a 12" Type-R in a 1.5ft^3 sealed box, and a friend of mine has a 12" Type-R in a 1.0 ft^3 sealed box. Even though his is on more power than mine was, his still sounds like crap. Peaky response, no impact, just terrible noise. It's loud, but it just makes noise, it isn't musical at all.Infinity Kappa 120.9w or Image Dynamics IDQV3 could work well. Their optimal qtc box is around 1.2. The former has "only 350watt" RMS power handling, but it's seems like well engineered sub. I wouldn't be surprised if they under rate it. 1cu ft could work acceptably for Alpine Type R as well, but enclosure is a tad too small for it. This will result in less than optimal SQ with Type-R (compared to larger box).
I had a single alpine type-r in a sealed box built to alpine specs and it ****** as well, like you said not musical. Got loud as **** though on 600w rms .I used to have a 12" Type-R in a 1.5ft^3 sealed box, and a friend of mine has a 12" Type-R in a 1.0 ft^3 sealed box. It seems like manufacturer specs always recommend a box way too small for decent SQ. I wish I understood why. But then again, most people with subs just want the loudest package they can in the smallest space. Most don't care about sound quality, just loudness.I had a single alpine type-r in a sealed box built to alpine specs and it ****** as well, like you said not musical. I think they are going to a high roll surroundYea one of the DC retailers on here told me to wait till decemeber on them. Apparently there changing something, he told me it would deff be worth the wait.
