Good 12" sub around 1000W for small sealed box??

@ lilboom, the box should be fine. A friend of mine sprays bedliners and he is going to shoot it with a few coats of that for me, so I think that should take care of the leaks, that stuff seals really good if you prep the wood right. The floor in my truck is black vinyl (work truck model), so I am doing that so it will blend in with my floor.

All of these subs look like they will work for what I need:

Fi Q

IDQ

Diamond D6

ARC Audio 12D2

Sundown SA-12

RE SEX12

SSA Icon

DC Lvl 3

IA Flatlyne

Any opinions on the list, maybe a top 3??

I know some of these are not 1000W subs, but I can go with a smaller amp, I haven't bought anything yet, so I am still looking at all options. I don't have really great components, so I know that I may drown them out, but I am hoping to upgrade those later.

Thanks again for all the help and opinions

If you can change the shape of the cutout on the box, look into the Boston Acoustics SPG555. Its an oval shaped sub, with the same cone area as a 12, has a neodyium magnet for lightweight, handles over 1krms, has replacement voice coils and soft parts so if you blow it up, you can repair it yourself. Retail is about $350 and it will keep up with a JL w7 in terms of sq and loudness. Not a lot of people know about them. Best part is you can run it in 1cu/ft sealed or you can run it in a ported box. Even with a small sealed 1 cube box, it will still do around 140db on music in most vehicles.
Interesting. I kind of want to run 2 of these now... Haha.

SSA ICON or SI MAG

Used both of them, you'll love either one.

Or check out the Obsidian Audio 12"...I have one in my room right now (building for a buddy) and has GREAT build quality for being only $162 shipped. Your paying less for the Obsidian, but your deff getting your moneys worth if you do decide to go with the Icon. The Mag you would have to find used though, which could be a challenge.. I know i'm not selling mine lol.

If you live in Lakeland, I might have a new dealer in the area you can check a "Black" series out. Or if you wait a month, I'll have one in my car for you to demo. Problem with alot of subs, they don't work well in small sealed enclosures....These WILL! Best thing to read reviews, research other people using them in similar enclosures & actually hear one in person to be sure...

I actually live in the Bartow area. Those subs look nice, but might be a little too rich for me as far as cost. Keep me updated on the dealers, I haven't bought anything yet, but really leaning towards the DC LvL 3. Thanks!

Who here has used the DC LVL 3 in a small sealed box? That is the sub that I am really looking at. How did you like it?
I ran 2 12s sealed.. They are very at home sealed.
