I'd still say find someone on here that would make you the box, but you're headed in the right direction.

I'd also get the sdc2.5's over type r's, but it wont be that big of a difference.

I'm just going to go with Type-Rs because they're cheaper. Here's my plans, which plan should I go with?:

1.

Found two 12" Alpine Type-Rs in a ported Subzone enclosure on Craigslist for $300: alpine type R's - $300

Should I just get that^ so I don't have to worry about getting a box made?

2.

Try to get just the 12" type-r sub from this kid for $50: NEW Alpine Type R 12" Subwoofer w/ fierce audio carpeted enclosure - $70

Then, try to get the 12" type-r sub from this kid for ~$100: 12" alpine type R sub and box - $150

Then, get a custom box made for ~$150.

3.

Buy all this kid's crap for the lowest I can get it for: 2 12" alpine type r subs and more - $500

He has everything listed for $500:

-2 12" Alpine Type-R Subs in dual ported box

-Kenwood 1800 watt amp

-Rockford Fosgate farad capacitor

-wiring

I'm telling you, the box is way more important than you think. You should realize it really determines what your sub will sound like and how loud it will get. Dont' get the right box and your type R will **** just as much as those other crappy subs out there.

Just find one thats 2.0-2.5ft^3 and tuned to 30-35hz.

^ yeah I was considering that but it won't fit in my trunk.

I'll probably have to end up getting a custom box made that will fit in my car. I think I'm going to go with plan #2.

Aren't you wanting to get speakers as well? If I were to go back before I got all of my stuff, I would have definitely got a 4chan amp and speakers before subs.

My thoughts are is you should consider what people are saying to you, and not ignore what everyone says.

Get a decent 15" sub, and build the box on your own, or buy one from a member here. Vitveet builds cheap enclosers, and they're pretty good as well.
