Is it ok to just add tweets for the front?

Right now im running some JBL GT5-652's ( 6.5 coax 45rms ). They obviously sound better than stock, and have that rotating tweeter thing. However, with them in the bottom of the doors the sound stage still sounds low, and the Sony DSO is the most USELESS HORRIBLE SOUNDING effect ever. Im just thinking can I run a set of tweeters in the corner of my doors ( where the mirror adjustment handle is ) and improve SQ? Or do I need matching midbass with passive xovers?

You dont neccesarily NEED to have matching set of comps its better however if your running these off ur HU i reccomend going with a Set of matching comps so your impedance doesnt fry the HU.

If you have an amp for these go with the tweeters just make sure they arent too harsh and overshadow your current speakers.

To put it plainly, no. Stuff has to be xovered at the right points or you get cancelation issues. Look into getting a set of comps. If you don't know your stock speaker sizes you can look them up on crutchfield. Save up some cash and buy some nice comps and a decent amp to power them with.

My front stage amp is on the way, it does 75w x 2 or 125@2x2.

My doors are 6.5

Why are you using coaxials if you plan on using a separate tweeter anyways? Just get some nice comps.

ppl think im weird for this but heres what i did and sounds awesome. way better than my previous mb fsa216 comps.

infinity referance 6022si for mid, and diamond 1 inch tweeter for tweet. with the fsa216 xover and it has more midbass and higher tweets than the mbs. just a suggestion

if you just get a set of tweets with an inline crossover you should be fine, done it many times (for people too cheap to go out and buy componets lol)
